Inside shade vs Outside shade vs OSA

Alrighty, I am a little confused by inside and outside shade. 

Do I want outside shade on my outside corners because they start outside the numbers? Or do you want inside shade because the WRs will likely cut in. Based on the language of the ability, I am guessing the first option but just wanted to confirm.

And is OSA basically both of them combined?

OSA or Inside + Outside Shade is best on your two outside corners. You could just use Outside Shade but good players will motion the outside receiver and snap it when he’s inside the numbers. Also with formations like Gun Tight (very popular) all 4 routes break inside the numbers so Outside Shade wouldn’t help you.

Ty very much for that write up! It all makes sense now! Hmm gun tight definitely throws some wrenches in that.

To be honest bro, in my testing of man coverage and abilities, KOs are WAY more effective than the shade abilities. I found that OSA (I have Pat Pete) works randomly. As in, sometimes they’ll be totally shutdown and have unbelievable positioning. and other times, the man beating route just… beats them. KOs are such a bailout but way more effective. With all these corners having 99 coverage stats and press rating, their positioning is already good on its own. So what I do is run all three KOs and PA on my outside corners. Then i run Mid Route KO, PA, and Short Route KO on my slot (mostly short routes from the slot and corner routes too). Won a Super Bowl when I switched from shades to KOs.   

But like Slow and Steady said: OSA is a combo of the two, and outside shade wouldn’t be as effective with Tight and Bunch being meta.

Yo appreciate that man. I noticed the same with shades and osa being random. Thought maybe I misunderstood them.

Yeah this is a good review about how ineffective they can be. Sometimes they shut everything down and other times they‘re getting absolutely cooked. 🤷‍♂️

I just kind of figure that I’m not winning every game anyways. It seems like EA has decided my fate before most games begin. At least when these dudes shut everything down the games are over quick and I can get my rewards and move on with my life.

When my guys are getting cooked out of the gate I’m switching to zone and usually get the win or at the very least compete until late in the game.
