I am bored playing CUT gets repetitive always miss glitches. MUT 24 is a disaster Everyone has every ability. But since EA finally nerfed some of the broken abilities It could be a good year. "COULD".
No, I was until about 2 weeks ago but now I'm not even sure if I'm going to buy. Ending with all the cards I wanted and 10m coins leftover and just not enthused to grind AH and FPs anymore.
it’s been years of thinking the next MUT will be better. I finally lowered my expectations

It's going to be the exact same game, we're forced to pay for it all over again. There will be slightly adjusted gameplay sliders, M25 plays significantly slower than M24. I guess that's their "solution" after years of people begging for the game to be more simulation, less arcade.
Abilities haven't changed a bit, it's still supported on last generation of consoles, so you can rest assured there will be no meaningful changes. EA is bankrupt of ideas and they have even less ability to execute on those ideas. This year showed us that they basically gave up on even pretending to try. This was a year filled with the least amount of effort and most sheer greed imaginable. Except next year to be identical in nearly every imaginable way... but slightly slower.
I liked getting a full reset at the end of MUT 23, as I started in late March, and for the longest time didn't have a clue about how things worked.
Now that I finished MUT 24 with a great team, the prospect of starting over with three RP champions is a little attractive, but I also feel like I'm leaving behind a year's worth of effort.
I'm looking forward to playing games where RPO Alert's aren't a free first down on 3rd-and-short. Got really sick of those in the end.
I play in a Franchise with 32 other guys so will buy it for that. I'm interested to see if all this 'physics-based tackling', where player numbers actually matter, carries into CFM because that could be a game changer. I know they say it every year but I'm also interested to see what they add to the mode this year - there's talk about quite a few additions.
In MUT, where every player is more or less the same and DDA sticks its nose in anyway, I'm less keen. I plan to play a lot less MUT, X-Factors, particularly catch knockouts have ruined the game.

Damn I wish I had 31 friends!
I haven't played M24 in weeks and my playing time dropped significantly months ago. I did pre-order 25, though probably more out of habit than excitement.
I enjoy the early stages of MUT but it has become monotonous and I'm not sure how long I'll last this time around.
I just can't see me focusing as much time/effort/$$ as I have in years past.

I kind of despise early MUT, as the game requires abilities to even operate at the most basic level. QBs can barely throw the ball, that is, unless/until they're blessed with some type of velocity ability, such as SFL/PLE. Linebackers cannot animate, so they're essentially worthless in coverage, hence everyone will be playing tons of Dollar YET AGAIN. EA's idea trying to implement some type of penalty for having 8 DBs on the field, via the stamina/fatigue was interesting, but they possess exactly zero ability to execute on any of the remotely decent ideas they might have. I don't know if it's a limitation of the Frostbite game engine, or lack of Dev resources/talent, or just sheer incompetence, but you have the right idea, my good man. Let's hope I can follow your impeccable lead and focus less time, money and effort into an objectively not good game.
Sure September MUT requires significantly more "skill" gap type stuff and not every moron can line up in Heavy Gun Raven or whatever and snap the ball and dive straight ahead for ~eighty yards, that will be a welcome change, but there's got to be a happy middle ground somewhere.
Please, for the love of all that is holy, can we get a modern simulation fatball game that has fair, balanced and hopefully competitive gameplay. Perhaps even built in Unreal Engine 5? Is that too much to ask for in 2024? We're living in the future, sheesh. I cannot wait for our AI overlords to enable small teams to pull of AAA equivalent video game titles. So many industries are ripe for disruption.
I’m just bracing myself for all the launch day glitches and issues. Seems ever year something breaks or is not ready that really infuriates me

It's really crazy, despite the fact they basically make us pay for a nearly identical game each and every single year, the release cycles are constantly filled with potentially game-breaking bugs and glitches. Heck, CUT's economy was essentially destroyed from what, Day 2? Sure it was a small subset of early adopters, but that's sufficient to ruin it for everyone else.
It's almost as if EA never bothers testing any of their code, oof. Pathetic.
I’ve had two years off madden in general so I’m hyped, especially after playing CUT, which is awful in comparison.

I've heard that M25 plays even slower on defense than M24. That's basically what has kept me playing the old gen version of the game the past couple years (because the old gen version of M24 is exactly the same as M23 and M22 where you can actually user like a maniac). I've made at least three attempts to make the switch to the current gen version of the game and I just can't stand how slow it plays. Some people prefer a "sim" style of play and for them... the current gen version of the game is better. But it's not for me.
I was finally gonna hang up my MUT cleats after ten years of playing this silly game... but my wife actually got me the M25 preorder for my birthday... so I think I'll climb back on that hamster wheel one more time. I just hope that it is literally the same thing as M24 (same old playbooks... same old abilities... just a roster update).
I actually enjoy the early months of MUT the most... building your team and coin stack. My hope is that one day they bring out a "MUT classic" option for the current gen game. Then I'll join you all over there. Until then... I'm going down with the old gen ship.

I've heard numerous people, who also had a ~decade of gameplay and significant experience that would basically force you (and them) to relearn the entire game all over again for "next" (current) generation of consoles. I briefly tried the PS4 version (of M22, i think) and then a tiny bit of M23 before being forced to upgrade my aging, but beloved Star Wars edition PS4 Pro console and it felt liek everyone was skating around on ice, the gameplay was VERY different. I guess my point is, i sort of understand where you true veterans are coming from. Heck, I didn't even want to swap offensive playbooks this late in the game cycle, let alone try a brand new version of the same game.
I suspect your wish will be granted, at least for one more year. I, too, was going to try and hang up my virtual cleats (or clipboard, i'm more an analytics, or GM type than a pro athlete), but when the kid randomly asked for CFB for his bday, I couldn't resist the temptation to pre-order both via MVP bundle. Probably will end up costing me quite a bit of cash before all is said and done. I've already been making deals with myself, "DON'T BUY ANY MUT POINTS AND WE'LL GET A FANCY NEW TV FOR THE BEDROOM..." (as soon as my better half signs on to that ordeal -- she thinks 43" is fine for our tiny closet sized bedroom, but i'm convinced we can cram an ultra thin 55-65" OLED panel in there).
There is SO much potential for competitive Madden, but EA botches nearly every imaginable aspect of the gameplay and attempts at balancing things. I do love the mindless grind, cobbling together a new squad -- but that's what CUT has provided me and the luster wears off rather quickly (playing against CPU or worse, overpowered, sweaty ass online grinders while I have an extremely weak squad). I was initially surprised to hear how many people were playing the PS4 version of the game on their PS5 console, but i'm finally starting to understand. After all these years of begging for more realistic simulation style fatball experience, i'm already regretting that. Hopefully it was just shock to my system to flop back and forth between M25 beta and my current end-game M24 squad.
Sorry, couldn't resist dropping this image.
