why the self degrading poll option? I want to disagree but I'm not calling you an idiot.

Sadly, this is almost certainly the correct take. We're gonna somehow end up with yet another cycle of kids putting Lurker onto Safeties, or whatever terribleness kept happening over and over last year. I dropped into my `23 account last week to glance at the Golden Tickets i had floating around the binder and there were really only a handful worth using.
Although, i did have a slight bit of hope when i heard a rumor that one of the first Golden Tickets were going towards a Randy Moss ROLB type dealio. Although, i'm a damn fool if i get my hopes up for anyone with potential for Niners theme team.
It's a real skill to understand the meta. EA themselves continually botch cards, it's hard to say if that is by design, or they simply don't know / don't care. The comp players (and/or streamers) tend to get this stuff correct, but very few of them will be consulted once all the GTs are revealed. Even 20-30 minutes with a knowledgeable player could help coach many of the winners.
I am curious how many NFL players will go out and buy a Golden Ticket to create themselves in-game. That definitely happened last year, at least once, unless my recollection fails me.

No way bruh... u saying like an nfl player would buy the GT off someone else??? That's crazy.

last year they were hardly that good and you were limited on how many you could unlock all the abilities for. Plus the pull rates are so bad at first it's not even worth trying to engage in. This year for a GT to be good it will need 2 free abilities, a discounted ability, and a free x-factor. Like awesome, a cracked card is fun for a minute but the 26 abilities ruin the game. There just isn't a lot of reason to engage other than to gather up some coins for rookie premier

Please do your own research, but i believe one (or both) of the following were created by these guys, themselves. Ceedy Deucy is so full of himself, i totally buy that, unsure about Gilliam, but i think perhaps he did as well. Heck, ten grand is nothing to these guys, but everything to a random kid who has pulled a GT. I don't know an actual amount or value, i just arbitrarily slapped some random value out of thin air to try and make a point.

Also, if you were to create a brand new receiver out of thin air, how could you possibly make anything better than that Tyreek AKA Crew that just dropped? For a top tier, end-game receiver I'd want the following:
Just sayin, we're already nearing cards that could be as good, if not outright better than many/most of these potential Golden Tickets -- guess i'm agreeing with most of what you stated above, including or especially the whole "not a lot of reason to engage" unfortunately that is oh so very true.
Probably because it hasn't really been acknowledged much by EA, they themselves aren't hyping it up so theres not as much hype.... doesn't help that so many people have turned the expectations of GTs on its head

For real, the comp players are not hard to get ahold of on twitter, and I'm sure if you DM'd any of them with a "help me make a golden ticket" they would jump at the opportunity. For whatever reason though people reach out to clowns like zirk, cc, and gutfox to make these things. Sure they know somethings, and are tapped into the game but they definitely wouldn't have better insight than any of the top 50 madden players.
I'm pretty sure darrynton evans buys one and makes himself every year, and CJ Gardner-Johnson botched his own card last year givining himself Lurker and PA lol I wish they would let people pick 4-5 abilities to discount.

- 99 SPD all relevant physical stats
- YAC `Em Up X-factor
- Jukebox or Evasive (nobody cares about spin cycle, so i basically regard these as the same)
- 0AP Route Tech in the rare case we need extra help to cook man coverage
- maybe some crazy height, but that's slightly less important, especially this year

Every time they drop shiny new cards I'm tempted but then quickly realize I'm gonna play against 61 cover 4, and gun bunch strong or angry runs and a yac em up receiver spamming rpos. This is by far the most stale year of gameplay for madden ever. I used to be able to load up and play 8-10 games in a row. Now I'm done after 2-3, it's just boring. Playing the CPU offers more variety...
The next step will be passive x-factors or dropping the AP down to 5-6 or both

Ohhhh ZING! I got rambling in the above post and (at least initially) included a mention of Zirksee, but then i second guessed myself and felt bad about calling out the kid... so i went back and removed it. Holy hell, once you see a video of Zirk trying to throw an actual football, it's extremely difficult to take him seriously. That was the best comic relief I've seen in quite some time -- makes my wife look liek a veritable Drew Brees by comparison, she's got a rocket of an arm and I'd pick her before Zirk in any game of flag football, ha.
Poor CC, i have nothing bad to say about the guy, but it's gotten extremely difficult to watch his content. All i can see anymore is the degenerate gambling addiction stuff oozing out of his videos, borderline screams or pleas for help. He can obvious afford it, or rather his wife can, heh. I'm just jealous, i guess. I want to be a kept man instead of a wr0king stiff. And Guttfox, well... overall i tend to respect many/most of his takes on the state of the game, but find him rather abrasive and annoying. At least he and CC do understand the game, as you pointed out, but there's so many legit players with lengthy careers who care about helping coach newer players and would make an excellent resource. EA should partner with some of these to improve the quality of their content, it'd be a win-win for everyone. However, i know nothing. I'm just a raving lunatic.

OHHHHHH, of course -- passive X-factors, we already started to see a small handful of those (thinking RoH). You're a flippin genius, not sure why that never occurred to me.
And yeah, i'm with you. It's been a real struggle, especially lately. Not sure what i'm going to do, oh crap that's tomorrow when the new/next Competitive Field Pass season should be starting... or maybe Friday, i guess. Soon, darnit. It will be a real struggle for me to sit through 10-15 MUT Champs wins per week again at this point. I started dabbling a bit with All Madden seasons and that has felt liek a slight improvement. Not great, but my rankings are rather low and i'm still crawling my way up, i think i'm still working my way through the All Star tier at the moment on All Madden difficulty. No clue if it'll be better than regular H2H seasons, but i suspect not. Have kind of slept on All Madden H2H difficulty, but i'm out of ideas otherwise. At least this way kids can't automatically know what plays i'm calling.
Never managed to pull off five 5-0 runs in MUT Draft, but i've already run out of steam for that game mode. It has been so jarring to go back and forth between regular squad, with full abilities and random 88s everywhere. And i'm right there with ya, i FOMO'd pretty hard into the Nicky Bosa WW drop today (he's got a strong name, eh?). Ultimately came up one card short, wasn't able to acquire a 96 OVR Weekly Wildcard "Veteran" oof, as only two of those exist in the entire game, apparently. Fuck my life.
