Is it me or Safeties

Hey,  when I play cover 3 or cover 1 my safety (don't matter which side) doesn't move until the wr is cutting across their face. It's too late by that time because the receiver has the full acceleration and the safeties are always flat footed. How do I stop this?

Depends how you're getting beat.  You have to know when to deep half a  db to prevent one play beaters.  If you're opponent knows you're running cover 3/1 they will run a beater on you.   Best advice for any D is to mix it up.

Just seems to be how the game is programmed. Certain route combos exploit it and come open almost every time. Like Sevein says you just gotta adjust and mix things up. If you're opponent is really locking into that sometimes you can bait them with your user.

Also a high awareness is a big factor in a (def) players initial moves. Could be part of the deal

Choose underneath as Your pass protection adjustment.  Try that

Be careful with it tho, it  becomes real easy to go over the top if you run a lot of underneath. I do it on short yardage situations where I know he’s either running or throwing short in that one instance, he happens to go long though he burns me when I called that

Oh good point.  Iplay a lot of squads now than anything. I'll have to adjust
