Is Madden becoming to feel a little "RNG"?

I'm not sure if this a problem others are having, but i've heard some youtubers talk about it in the past.

Essentially, the idea posits that EA chooses a winner before each match.

Outlandish? Maybe, but sometimes it feels like I have to win games in spite of EA

For Example: earlier today in an online game, I called a play including a scissors concept (a corner and an intersecting post) and while normally these routes cross with no issue, today the cornerback shading my Y receiver bumped David Njoku off of his corner route, allowing his slot corner to jump the anticipatory throw for an easy interception. Furthermore, later in the game as I was driving down the field within the 2 minute warning, I threw a routine drag to Amari Cooper, who while not getting a crazy amount of separation, he bobbled the ball, and which popped directly into the hands of a waiting Terrell Bernard, who at that point was in the vicinity of the ball carrier. In no way, shape, or form should a 93 overall receiver drop a 5 yard drag route. This is even more frustrating when I realized I had a similar play while I was on defense that my cornerback (with pick artist mind you) dropped a tipped pass. 

Am I becoming frustrated at nothing? Or is this something other people have experienced in the past as well?

Trust me I used to take this game serious and thought it was competitive skill vs skill… lol boy was i wrong, game is 50% calling overpowered same repetitive plays and 45% luck… I have had games with many drop picks, but the first time I thrown a bad pass it’s intercepted no prob.

game is 5% skill which is why I don’t waste energy on it any more… cheese plays and ea decide  who wins

nah that seems crazy, anything is possible tho but it's probably just the mindset of focusing in on your mistakes and getting triggered so the human psyche looks for a reason / way to blame something, odds of that being true are extremely  low IMO

In my SB I underthrew 3 deep passes while free forming up and high balling to a 95 speed receiver who had his man beat every time. All three picked off. I play this game way more than I would like to admit, so I know what passes I can and can’t complete, especially deep passes considering that’s my scheme. There’s countless more instances of BS like this happening, usually when I’m on a win streak. I’ve had receivers with +7 speed on the defender get locked completely locked up in man coverage 😂

I feel sorry for you brother, I believe you posted some gameplay before if I remember correctly and you just aren't at that level to know yet.....

sh*t is absolutely scripted in many cases, how you think you get so many 4th and inches, how do you think your receivers run just not deep enough to pick up the yards you need?  I watch it daily, I drop my team to 87 ovr and watch as god squads with every players can't even complete a pass against me, and when i'm at 90 vick becomes complete trash, at 87overall team he makes every throw. I'd record it and prove it to you but i'd probably get banned.... it's plain as day to see if someone records it and points it out to you.

i've played this game pretty much everyday since the original madden came out, it's definately some rng, strange forces in the game, no doubt about it, 100%

I played a guy that just started the game yesterday and while he lost, his mlb stuck with a 92 speed receiver step for step in man coverage all the way across the field.

Game isn't scripted but there's RNG and old code momentum  screwery going on  during the game.  

It'll be little things like your Defenders back peddling a few more yards before engaging tackles or the CPU ignore a pass or blocker  in certain situations. 

 Cheese plays have nothing to do with RNG they exploit  the  poor programming this game and all you need for that  is a playerbase that lacks self respect and moral fiber.

It has nothing to do with the human pysche when a top 3 wide receiver drops a drag route tipped right to his defender... I made the right read on the play and maybe thats just the difference between us

I'm not saying yer wrong, there's absolutely without a doubt, far too much RNG to make this an actual competitive game, especially for thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Hell, i'm 90% certain that during the last televised MCS tournament (Harvest?) that the finals were crashing before games even got started.  How obnoxious.

I'm curious about this portion of your above message, have you seriously played this game ever single day for nearly ~three decades?  What is the "original" madden to you, my good man?

I played a lot more Tecmo Bowl (and Tecmo Super Bowl) & Play Action Football back on the old 8-bit / 16-bit NES/SNES systems, but had friends with Sega Genesis that were hardcore into Madden in the 90s.

Heh, it's sad but true -- EA has a way of bringing out the most obnoxious and toxic behaviors in most of us.  It's always super refreshing the 1 in 20 times i get matched up with an opponent who is genuinely interested in playing the actual game and not just calling the same cheese play(s) over and over and over.

Too funny, there's a whole heck of a lot of folks who lack both self-respect and moral fiber floating around.

I’ve never had the CPU return a kickoff for a touchdown and I’ve had 4 in the past few days.

I played a lot more Tecmo Bowl (and Tecmo Super Bowl) & Play Action Football back on the old 8-bit / 16-bit NES/SNES systems, but had friends with Sega Genesis that were hardcore into Madden in the 90s.

I don't even remember what was actually the first madden, but i definately had it and played it, tecmo bowl, joe montana football on genesis, all of them really, I've pretty much played every football game ever made that I know of, which really isn't too crazy because i'm older? I just played whatever came out each year. but yeah I have pretty much done a game or two every day of my life for several decades. I kinda use it as my breaktime for work etc.

Bravo.  Pleasure to meet some more advanced-aged folks such as ourselves.  I interacted with someone on these forums this mr0ning who suggested that "2019 was a long time ago" heoaehoaheoahee.  My apologies if I (incorrectly) assumed that most folks were young enough to be my kids.

I never recall having any fatball games for Atari 2600 (or Commodore before that), so best i could conjure up was the 8-bit NES stuff, primarily that Play Action Football.  Played the shit out of that before I was able to get my own copy of Tecmo Super Bowl, had to go to a friend's place to first catch the original, although i've got an old Raspberry Pi that we've been using for emulation on classic games for ~half a decade, or more: https://retropie.org.uk/

Although the 10 year old quickly advanced beyond these retro console games, he and all his friends aren't that interested in seeing what us old folks used to be into, heh.

Idk man. I had Deion sanders up to 95 speed and he was torched by Travis kelce. 
 

also, 89 speed marshawn was out running every single defender I had. Makes no sense

same I had all the top speed cards in the game, it made zero difference on offense or defense. you might get a crazy play here & there but you get that w/ lesser players as well so whats the difference. I had a falcons theme team w/ deion/asante/bijan/warrick/mack etc and it was not at all impressive, played the same and/or worse than my nat team
