So Otto and Purdy both have generic 2 release. But I've heard Purdy has a faster release (idk how with both having gen 2). I had Otto up to 99 speed with gunslinger, quick draw, pocket deadeye, roaming, truzz, juke box etc. But Purdy doesn't get juke box or truzz but does get dots. Which is a really good ability but is it worth giving up truzz and juke box?

I have been playing with him and the Dots ability is nice. Plus I got Purdy up to 99 speed and when I run an option the Fast break ability works really good. I run a little with my QB but not enough to absolutely need Truzz. Plus most of the time I end up sliding. I've fumbled too many times with Truzz.

Interesting. Does Fast Break also help get outside the pocket? I tried to briefly convert to a roll-out passing style offense, but struggled to consistently get out of the pocket, even with 99 SPD RG3 as my QB1. Primarily have been using Brady, as i'm basically a statue in the pocket, so that was quite an adjustment.
Obviously i never got the roll-out stuff dialed in, but holy it's extremely difficult, if not nearly impossible to defend when it works. Abusing those corner / sideline routes are nasty.
I'll be trying to cobble together the Purdy set later this evening, but not sure how i'll do with Gen2. May the Madden gods have mercy on my soul. I'm delusional to think he'd perhaps be a poor man's Joe Montana. 🤓
I'm still running 49ers TT, so of course i gotta try BCB. 🐓🐓🐓

For the roll out you need to double team the DE you are gonna roll out and slide line that direction. The opposite end will come free so you do need to roll out quickly

I would pick Purdy then. I'm saving up to get him also and get rid if Alex Smith.

Finally managed to build that set. I'm about to try my 98 SPD Purdy and hope for the best with Gen2. Praying it won't be as bad as I recall. Added Quickdraw and anything & everything I could find to try and speed up that release.
I'm mostly a statue in the pocket, so doubt I'll even take advantage of the speed, maybe I'll get an opportunity to scramble. Love to hear your thoughts on Gen2, especially coming from Otto, so you have recent experience.
I cannot even remember the last Gen2 QB I used, but hated my time with Slinger 2 Mahomes MVP. Obviously it's been a minute. No end-game Gen2, that's for sure. Maybe I've been missing out. Definitely used plenty of Slinger 1, most recently Alex Smith.

How can a 95 speed get to 99?

Theme team all stars boosts can get you more speed.
I’ve been using Otto since he came out and just got Purdy this morning. Played through about 10 Champs games and can confidently say Purdy is by far the better passing QB. Kinda wish I hadn’t taken Otto as a BND from the RP pack but oh well.
Purdy will be my QB for the remainder of my time playing MUt24.

Ahh thanks.

Yea I already had 5 out of 5 49ers for plus 2 speed for Boldin. just had to switch all my Browns theme team players I was using for Otto to 49ers to get another plus 2 for Purdy.

Nah fast break only works on QB designed runs. Which is really only good for option runs.

Well, after a single evening, Gen2 definitely is not as bad as I've made it out to be (at least in my head and possibly/probably on these boards, as well). It feels usable, I guess. Definitely notice the longer release times on the dink and dunk type throws, which is typically what i exist off of. Especially against the heavy blitz stuff. Haven't scrambled that much with Purdy, not sure I will, because i'm mostly a statue in the pocket.
He feels really quite good as a pure pocket passer, at least that's my first impressions. And obviously he fits my theme team, so I'm probably going to stick with him for now, over Brady (or RG3, or even Otto). Although i have yet to use Otto, but i continue to see a TON of people with him as QB1. YMMV.
To give a proper answer to your question above, i believe Purdy is better than Otto if you are a pocket passer. If you'd prefer to run around and scramble, then Otto is almost certainly your guy. Both could potentially be top tier, depending upon your particular scheme and playstyle. I'm going with Brock, for numerous reasons.
Couldn't even use all the available ability buckets on Brock, there's so many. Hard to justify 2AP on Threat Detector at the moment, a competent opponent can disguise their pass rush, anyway... so unsure how much i'm truly missing out on, but it has always been nice to get as much info on the opponent as possible.
