I was hoping to have him last night, but since stats and wins dont track in the competive pass, I guess Ill have to wait till EA gets their act together. You might want to alter your post title. I mean free hookers are great, but I would never grind one out myself.

So yeah I misunderstood, I think...sorry for that......
The only card u can get from a pass that I'm using is Casper and the only cards I'd use now that are in an6 field Pass Pass are MAYBE Allen and def Deion.
I thought you were saying theres a better FS/SS out there lol. Maybe Im wrong?!
Yeah I only have Casper left. Ill use Allen and Deion when they drop.

Well there are is you use guys from other positions like I do, especially ones that get FS secondary...
Derwin is better, I believe Kam is Better, I believe Cromwell is better and I also believe Rod is better (90+ man and zone in today's meta). I also think Aeneas is better (he gets FS secondary position) - acrobat for 2 AP has been insane on him playing deep back there. I sometimes use the other Woodson (Charles) there. Again, I think he's better. I even think NTL is better.
FS , etc - Agility, COD in addition to speed, jumping, coverage threshholds, catching.....Hooker has low agility and low COD and a lot of these other cards get both 90+ threshholds in Man and Zone, which Hooker doesn't (in Man)
So yeah, I carry like 7 cards that I think do as good or better of a job at FS but that's my personal preference. By the time I unlock Hooker I am sure there will be other pure FS (as primary position) that get great ability buckets that will be comparable or better.
But for a free, grind-it-out card, its great and its an accomplishment to get it this soon

Yeah usually I swap just FS/SS but I didnt think about corners too. That gives you a whole lot of options that open up. Theres a ton of CB you could use up there then.
And by the end of the week with TD/MF/TOTW should have more options.

Yeah, we will see what the content holds for us. I would love to see a double Cro.....DRC and Antonio. Double Cromartie, 2 of the best in Madden and 1 of the best all time IMO.
Ed Reed (hopefully at FS) and Krause (I assume at FS) could be right around the corner. I LOVE Paul Krause cards so I think he instantly replaces anyone else there if his card drops. Don't thing he'd be a MF card though...but Ed Reed sure would. Doesn't get much better than Reed if they do his card right.

Had the same issue, first time I've grinded the comp pass player since I run a Colts TT. He has been really good for me in my scheme so far on a 50/50 TT. 93 speed FS is pretty nice, especially in zone with that deep out knockout. Only way to really combat aggs at this point is playing zone defense, which has been my defense all year anyways. Glad I was lucky enough to not have as many issues as a lot of people!

Fucking none of these. My list was shitted on lmao
on god I remember Krause when he first came out was a literal WR at FS. He was the OG FS megatron. Catch anything in that area.

I think in a zone heavy scheme he is up there at the top few DBs in the game. Not many 6'1" options at 91+ speed with the deep knockout abilities. I run a zone shell defense with some match thrown in and the match is a bit inconsistent with him so far, but the shell is REALLY nice with him and Gilmore (I run a Colts TT). I've not used a lot of other players, but his zone is up there with Gilmore (similar size and speed), but I can see where his M2M defense is a little suspect.

Well, hey, if zone coverage with Malik Hooker helps you to fight off aggro catches, that's good ...Man is the meta , it it thought of as more effective than zone but if that is working for you, how exactly do you fight off aggros with Hooker in a zone? I would prefer to play zone sometimes but I know it's not as effective as man...
So I would really like to pick your brain.....how do you play? Cover 2's or 3 shells? Or do you go cover 4? Hybrid coverages? How do you shade and set your flats? and what other coaching adjustments do you make? I've tried a lot of combos but nothing really works very well in zone
Sorry for all the Q's but it really interests me to see someone playing zone successfully in Madden 23 and fighting off aggro catches

I run the LTD Gilmore ; frankly he's been really not as good as expected...I usually play man. Which Gilmore are you using....the field pass one or the LTD? There's actually a bunch of 6'1" options with that speed that can get KO abilities......I mean, if you run a Colts TT of course they won't fit your squad but There's Derwin, Cromwell, and Charles Woodson, all at least 6'1 91 speed . And my Gilmore is taller and faster but he can't hold onto a pick for squat

Impossible for most of us due to this bs
His 1AP pick artist is nice.
