Key point but its happened already multiple times: Vick or vice versa like Lott, Ware, Law, etc
Kurt Warner came out a month ago, people powered him up for a mili or so with all the pieces. Now a month later, you can have 1 card for way less and not having to power it up. Its insane they didnt add the new cards to the old pups. They should have gotten rid of them completely.
Now you either have essentially worthless cards sitting or wasted a ton of coins.

Agreed, it’s a huge coin sink in favor of EA.
Since we only get 12AP and how the gameplay works they have forced us to build our teams based on discounted/free abilities. It’s crazy how much coins are being spent powering up Legends for discounted abilities to fit them on our teams.
Like you said the same players get a one card upgrade 3-6 weeks later. ABSOLUTELY NUTS!!!
On top of that people have been powering down their Legends and can’t even sell the cards…lol what a f***ing shit show!

I currently have 3? But I really have been holding off after Vick since that was the first one and I was running a steelers TT.
I just won the raffle and got Dawkins but Im really dreading powering him up. Im waiting and hoping a comp pass brings out 94 legend pieces lol.
With the discounts much needed to put out, I had to power up bruce smith and Im waiting on the 94 for brunell but I also have my legend pack too to take off the top end.
Its really stupid.

I still have Vick and Bettis waiting for power ups and i have some higher end ones powered up waiting for the 2 high end pieces cuz I dont want to spend it or wait till it gets wayyy cheaper because its dumb to sink coins.
Just wait till Ultimate Legends! You will love it. Then you will have to buy the lower cards in the 90's etc. to power up to get the discounted abilities.
I have no insider info on this; just my guess on how EA has handled things so far this version.
Yeah there is no reason brunell 94 should’ve been 1.5 mill when his top card was sub 1 mill. Honestly they should scrap this system next year.
Agreed. Shouldn't have had any power ups this year if this was how it would go.
Something they could have done to prevent old cards from becoming worthless for players that get upgrades is do sort of what they do with the AKA cards. Once a player gets a new card with new discounted abilities, require old versions of that player to unlock the discounted ability slots. At least then, the old cards for the upgraded players may hold some value.
I avoid legends in positions the require abilities because it is so expensive
I’m a nms player with a not so good team. last year I could get power ups of cards I really wanted and power them up almost all the way or use a pup pass to get the best version. Now there’s so many guys I’d love to add but can’t afford. Hopefully ea brings them back madden 24
I can afford to run a full Legends TT with all Legends PU, and i also think this system is awful. I made a thread about this when the game first dropped. This whole thing is completely ridiculous. The concept of power ups and how they worked in game the past few years had me conflicted but it was SO much better than this year's implementation.
Just a terrible way to do this

I hated the idea of no pups because older cards are just training fodder basically but then when we HAVE legend cards and they get upgrades but cant use or have a card then a legend pup is so dumb.
I right now have Dawkins, Brunell, and Bruce Smith as my only pups currently but still need the 94s for Dawkins and Brunell.

Yeah my thread from way back when the game dropped said that superceded cards would drop in value like a stone and that's exactly what is happening. It's really a terrible system but EA likes it because you have to chase new cards instead of just adding training, etc.
it just makes the gap between rich and poor even bigger with team overalls and abilities
