Welcome Edgerrin James, the first RB in the game with RP Apprentice for 1 AP, but really the first HB with Backfield Master!
In all seriousness, this card enters the same tier as the top tier running backs in the game currently. This card EASILY enters the top 3 of this list without much question about it: TOP 10 Half-Backs in MUT per MUT.GG. If you haven't checked out this list already, you definitely should, top tier content about top tier cards.
What, to me, makes Edge so good that catapults him to the top three of the charts for HB is his discounted abilities. Listed below, you will see RB Apprentice is 1 AP which I think is a very useful and underrated ability. At 1 AP it is easy to fit into almost any scheme and the flexibility it provides is almost necessary to play at a high level and counter the current Cover Zero Blitz Meta we are in. Looking at you Texas Route, we love you.
And if you have the AP available, you would take Backfield Master over RB Apprentice. Backfield Master is RB Apprentice on steroids; you get access to the four additional Hot Routes but also improved route running and improved catching against LBs and Linemen. For 2 AP, Backfield Apprentice is the mecha of HB abilities if you can fit in your team
Even though his stats don't really stand out from the rest of the pack, his abilities are off the charts and allow you to add a ton of versatility to your Offense to help you scheme for any situation. What are your thoughts?
