Madden NFL 25 - Sneak peek. Are you playing next year?

Not to be confused with the 2013 PS3 era game, which i believe is widely regarded as THE last great Madden experience.  Apologies in advance if this is old news, but i just happened to stumble up on it today.  There's nineteen total images for the forthcoming title.  I really hope i'll be retired by August 27 and definitely not trying to build towards the hype machine... after all, 2024 was the "make or break" year according to EA.  Their words/phrasing, not my own.

By this point i think we all have unfortunately realized that was nothing more than marketing speak or perhaps meant in terms of their bottom line and had absolutely nothing to do with the actual gameplay.  We're made to suffer, it is our lot in life.  Oof.

I might be a total dimwit, just now re-reading the phrasing included here... i have no idea what or where this was from, or when it was actually released.  Regardless, i guess my poll is still relevant, but please be advised i am already second guessing myself about what game they're even referring to, OOF.

Sorry, i'm bad.  For all i know, this could be a ~decade old.

EDIT, my sincere apologies, this is legit for the 2013 game -- seemed a little strange / early to get a sneak peak uggh.

I'm right there with ya, brother.  EA has us by the balls, knowing full well there aren't any other (or any) simulation fatball experiences.  I'm struggling to simply walk away due to this very fact.  Had to remove my payment info from the PlayStation account, hoping to prevent myself from having any more weak moments in the MUT Marketplace.  And as of this week, i've also allowed my EA+ subscription to expire.

I had some brief bits of fun between Harvest and Zero Chill, managed to knock out 45 & 50 wins, fairly certain that was one of the first times i've ever fully completed and maxed out the House Rules.  Doubt I'm patient enough to sit through a 100 wins in the current Playoff House Rules game mode, it's 80% loading screens, often for literally 1 play.  Running anything beyond a basic stock defense feels mostly pointless.  These little quality of life issues are becoming more trouble than they are worth.  Having to set adjustments each and every single time we join game modes is absolutely ridiculous.

Anyway, /rant off -- thanks for tolerating my badness.

If they do release EA College football this summer as promised I’m done with MUT for the foreseeable future NCAA was always my favorite football game if EA releases it but messes it up big time I’ll get madden then and if EA doesn’t release I’ll be doing this all over again next year

I skipped last year thinking this year since it was the Make or Break Year and plus my friends wanted me to get it so I got it in mid December on sale and it feels better but overall not much better. Rewards are as bad as before. gameplay is ok at best. Only fun thing is playing squads with friends. At this point I’m only playing to do dailies and that’s it. I probably will get the new 25 but probably not till mid December again. Hopefully it’s like the first Madden 25

I casually follow Syracuse football, but i didn't go to a D1 school or anything, so i've never really gotten into college sports all that much... with the notable exception being LSU gymnastics.  I've become a pretty big fan within the past ~year, or so.  😀

I hope the NCAA game drops in July, for your sake.  Be nice to have some other football option to check out, even if i'm expecting more of the same low-effort, constantly recycled bullshit.  How this becomes anything but a copy/pasta from Madden remains a complete and total mystery to me.  I'm sure you are much more acutely aware of these things than I am, but wasn't able to find any confirmation on the allegedly July 12, 2024 release date, or even any mention of further delays.

I also did not realize there was pending litigation... of course EA doesn't want to pay the players for using their likeness.

This is an extremely valid reason to play Madden / MUT, imo.  Sitting down to enjoy some 2P local H2H action against my 10 year old son was the original reason we got the game... then i discovered MUT and it's been a non-stop battle ever since.  If I could just get back to focusing on what is truly important, perhaps there is still some bits of fun to be found here or there.

Enjoy that squads gameplay with yer boyz.  I only dabbled with that once or twice, perhaps I should try again.  Also never really got into Franchise mode.  I'll probably just move on to other games.

Oh snap, i assumed this was already announced/definitive.  That would have been a nice tribute (slapping both Kelce "twins" on the cover), heh.  Before someone tries to correct me, i do realize they're not actually twins, hence the air quotes.  Although, this would be too clever and too classy for EA, they'll probably just search for the next iteration of Josh Allen, which could be any of the following;  CJ Stroud, Jordan Love, Big Cock Brock Purdy.  Bang bang.

Again, my biases are on display here, but really hard for me to not cheer for 49ers coaching legend, DeMeco Ryans, to continue doing great things in Houston.  Would be well deserved for CJ Stroud to grace the cover, impressive season, for sure.  Especially considering they're both in their first year.  Otherwise, i don't mess with TexASS.
