This years game is not that bad. I have no complaints other than everyone should have built in pick artist. Other than that it’s actually really fun.

Facts.
The game is fine until you realize there’s a lot of things you can abuse ie high balls that make adjustments and actual football knowledge pointless then it becomes a total waste of time.

yea ok but I can bet you suck at life lol take your word about the game? or take the word of multiple top tier pros? that's what I thought. a vast majority of the community including TOP TIER PROS all agree that the game is not good

Lmao i agree
I agree and disagree. The game has still been in a state of decline for several years now. Once the "opportunity" packs hit the market last year I knew we were in trouble. It was a fun concept but, inevitably the profit margins sky rocketed and now that's their marketing strategy, almost exclusively.
In regards to actually playing the game of football, idk how many times I have played perfect defense, with or without a user, and my defenders drop what should be easily punishable mistakes. Then, they go on to throw a touchdown and suck all the momentum out of the game with it.
Or how you can literally dumb out an opponents O-line with cheesy alignments and get a free pass rusher when you're blocking 5 or 6 on a pass play. Yes, checkdowns help mitigate this, but anyone line glitching is gonna know that's where you're aiming to look. It's just a frustrating state of things and those are only a few minor examples.
Also, bring back Power Ups. It was fun to be able to use a diet version of a card without needing the 800k "full" version, even if you dont get the best abilities right away

My opinion, I think where people who say these kinds of things are getting frustrated is that other people are getting the cards they feel that they deserve to get for logging on. They‘ll never say that. They’ll complain about the game being expensive or hard. But I bet if they could get whatever card they wanted for cheap/free/no effort, there wouldn’t be as many posts about “The State of MUT”.
If you are one of those people, stop for a second and think about it. The reality is, the shiny cards you want can only do so much. If you understand the game and play an effective strategy, you’ll beat every team. There is no ability out there that will correctly position a seam route in the soft spot of a cover 4. There is no stat that will help you if you aren’t playing the correct zones at the correct zone depth. Watch the professionals. All kinds of pre snap adjustments because THAT is what will win the game. A speedy receiver or a stalwart D lineman is nice, but not game breaking.
Yes it’s annoying to have to learn this much about football to have success in game. I think a lot of people are forgetting the very nature of sport is competition. If you don’t want to get that serious about a video game, I completely understand. It’s not for everyone. That said, you can’t willingly walk into a sauna and complain about the sweat. This is what competitive online gaming is across all genres. It’s time to make peace with it.
A majority of critique isn’t from people with card envy… come on man. They are complaining about the greed, ineptitude, lack of communication and degradation of content. EA has systematically lowered expectations for VALUE by presenting terrible pack odds and creating near exclusivity behind the paywall of $50 and $100 bundles. it sends a clear message, along with transforming fun, popular content into lazy cash grabs, or removing the content all together. They don’t address bugs that hinder the enjoyment of the game. (They still haven’t fixed the alternate uniforms!)
They immediately fix any issue that benefits the community, but will not even communicate about issues that negatively affect the community. The gameplay is often frustrating (as pros will even point out), but they are putting energy into backwards hurdles to sell packs rather than fix fundamental issues in gameplay. THEY ARE GREEDY and systematically pushing the limits of what the community will put up with. That’s not fun. When you experienced the game when it was fun and then you watch them blatantly drive it into the ground to maximize profit, it’s a bummer. it’s not about card envy for most people.

This is where you betray that the "this much" you think you know about football is barely scratching the surface. You can read undisguised alignments. Good for you. The problem most of us have with this game is that so much of what comes after the snap ceases to represent football. At best, Madden contains elements of football, just as rugby contains elements of football. But Madden ≈/≈ Football, much less = Football.
I also don't conflate Madden as a football game with MUT as a business model. MUT inherently rewards cheesers, cheaters, and glitchers with better cards so that their cheesing becomes more effective. I'm seeing my 90 OVR NMS team once again succumbing repeatedly to RPO's and stretch runs when I know they're coming. My defenders get sucked into blocks (as has been the case with Madden blocking animations since forever), and 94 SPD runningbacks are running free to the edge, or ordinary receivers are running to daylight unaccounted for by a defense that was instructed specifically to stop them.
You have to not play MUT like football to like this game as a football game. If there is ever a competitive head-to-head football simulation game, you'll discover how little you actually understand about the game.

Can you imagine what it would be like to get a Season Pass item in August, be able to unlock a discounted ability bucket from a Week 7 Team of the Week item for that same player, add a team chemistry bucket by adding that player's Team Diamonds item in December, being able to spend training to upgrade that player as they advance in the playoffs, having some additional anime card art options with a Genki Force item, and being able to convert a fully upgraded item into an end-game version of that original Season Pass item?
Power-ups done right would keep users engaged from August onward.

if for example you are a 80 overall team but you have a good coach vs a 85 overall team vs a bad coach(the “coach“ is you btw) the game will be closer because the skill gap can help you make the game closer and ultimately win the game because your the better player, just like the NFL
but if it’s like a 80 overall team vs. a 95 overall team, that’s a different story
even if you have a “god squad“, you can still lose because you just aren’t a good player at the game
someone watches civil lmao
