It’s ridiculous the man to man ability discounts we are getting now.. i mean one step ahead for 1ap .. like how are zone players supposed to keep up? There is no better zone ability but man just keeps getting better..
Also, I think just overnight every single player switched from zone to man.. it’s literally all I face now..
This is another reason why abilities ruin this game. It chokeholds your system.
Way too many people just run a single coverage scheme. Switch between zone and Man depending on your opponents play tendencies and personnel. Ain’t no NFL defence coming out and playing man 95% of the snaps.
I’ve run man all year but I mix some zone in here and there to confuse opponents. What I need to be better at is blitzing. I don’t normally but I’ve played people who blitz every down.
I ran Zone all year and am in the top tier in head to head. I had to switch to man now. Exactly why you said. Inside shade for 1 or 2 AP on players with no better zone abilities coming out. And when you face it, they will get open sometimes. But eventually, they are going to throw a pick or two. And that right there, wins you the game if you consistently score

there is literally no separation anymore.. and when you do get a little separation you have a KO ability that just kills it.. it just really sucks cuz I hate playing man but I’m more than likely gunna be switching to it..
Use Route Techs. Most important WR ability and will fry all shades or one step ahead. Sometime get KO'ed though.
This is why KO's need to be out of the game. If your WR wins and you make the read and time the pass right, or you user it and come back to the ball for a catch, it should be a catch and not some ability that saves your opponent.

I have route tech on every single one of my pass catches and they rarely beat them..

What routes or concepts are you running? Are your WR good for this time of year?
just put your slot on a cross, one outside receiver on a hitch, you RB blocking your te doing a corner, and pull your other receiver and snap when he crosses the OLine men so he blocks, then if he blitzes you have your TE or crossing WR wide open if you have RT on them, if he users you throw to the other

With zone KO abilities, your DBs react better in zone and also get the KO chance. You need both inside/outside shade or OSA AND a man KO ability to get that same effect in man coverage. OSA won’t get you knockouts, and deep route KO won’t make your DBs react better.
Man abilities are just now catching up to zone, but zone abilities still save you more AP to run.

A good player will pick the zones apart. Seems like people are either getting better, or zone coverage is falling behind when it comes to defensive gameplan.

If you have a player that's even just decent at passing, they'll pick apart zones all day if that's all you're doing, no matter the abilities. Much scarier to have to play man coverage, so the extra AP cost is worth it imo
Man d is the most bum friendly, bailout, zero skill defense....literally just gotta have decent user to cover the middle smh......this game is trash, requires almost ZERO football IQ

You don’t even have to have a good user.. most I run into are trash with there user..
