Man or Zone Coverage?

We’re getting into the endgame now and lots of the receivers have abilities that just dust Route KO’s. Is zone coverage the new strat or should I keep trying Deep Route KOs. Right now my D consists of:

LE: J.J Watt (XFactor + El Toro = 1AP)

DT 1/2: Hargrave (Inside Stuff 1 AP), Sam Adam’s (Inside Stuff 2 AP)

RE: JPP (No Outsiders 1 AP)

CB1: Jalen Mills (Pick Artist 0 AP)

CB2: Charvarius Ward (DR KO + Pick Art 1 AP)

CB3: Champ Bailey (Deep Route KO 1 AP)

CB4: Stephen Gilmore (Pick Artist 0 AP)

CB5: Deion Sanders 

FS1: J. Adams Prez (XFactor + Crusher 1 AP)

FS2: Ed Reed (Pick Artist 0 AP)

SS1: H.Smith Hit Man (XFactor + Secure Tackler + Enforcer 2 AP)

SS2: Rodney Harrison (Tackle Supreme + Deep Route KO 2 AP)

SUBLB1: Rodney Harrison

SUBLB2: Ed Reed

Keep in mind I’m a Pats TT 41/50 and I try to keep it at least 40

Keep in mind I’m a Pats TT 41/50 and I try to keep it at least 40

Thinking of moving around the CB‘s and maybe switch the FS1/SS1 with my FS2/SS2 at Sub LB. Might get rid of mills for warden just for Deep Route KO but again I don’t know if I should just go zone.

To be successful imo you need to run both.  Anyone with some sort of skill or that can watch a youtube has beaters for every coverage.  Nothing makes the game easier than facing an opponent who runs the same defensive coverage every play.  I try to mix in an equal amount of cover 4, cover 3, man 0 or man 1 and cover 2 man.  Every once in a while I will through in a cover 2 zone or cover 3 lock.  Maybe some will say man is better or some might argue zone but it is really about keeping your opponent on their toes so they dont know what to call or how to adjust.  With that said I like a good mix of guys with high man coverage, this includes my safties and sub lb.  Then put pickartist and deep zone ko on the deep safeties and outside CB.  This Ap set up also allows me to use some run stopping abilites on my dline.  Again to me it is all about balance.

True, I mix cover 1 man, cover 2 man, cover 3 sky, cover 3 flat, cover 4 and cover 3 lock. But every game it seems like ill run cover 1 man with my safeties playing the curl flats to stop the slant and a random WR on the outside runs a deep streak on my Deep Route KO CB and beats him. Then I go cover 3 and his corner routes go in between my deep zones and curl flats. Just works against me everytime. Which # CB's are outside coverage?

match coverage... anyone good at the game will freestyle against your man no matter the leverage or what zones you drop on your safeties. We have cheap route abilities so your CB's having Ko's doesn't matter if my WR's are winning by 5+ yards. People who run man seem to be one dimensional too, if they come out in 2 man under I know the game is over unless they have some glitchy blitz, and then they drop 25 yard flats on their safeties instead of deep half to stop corners and they leave the streak over the top wide open. Man just isn't powerful anymore unless paired with a good blitz and inside shades or lucky shading to prevent route abilities from working.

I've ran match all year and have been able to bag all the meta tight, bunch and trips plays for the most part. I most run quarters, palms, 6 and some cover 3 match. Also most players especially the players who only know tight have tells to what play they are going to run so its good to pick up on that and adjust accordingly. Also always base align zone so your opponent can't tell what shell you are in till post snap, most people aren't good enough to make post snap coverage reads or expect certain routes to get open based on previous play.
