Deep out zone KO on your safeties and outside CB’s is mandatory imo just to be able to play Zone defense

I agree with most of the abilities in the elite tier of the ability tier list that Kaotikords has linked being must haves.

I wouldn't recommend film study unless you know how to use the info it provides. 

Also if you're looking to throw deep passes frequently, ple and sfl alter the trajectory of the ball in a way that makes a lot of deep passes harder to complete.
