I’m trying to go NMS this year but am wondering about the CP. It’s clear I need to win some champion and/or h2h games to qualify for any good solo rewards. What is the difference between the two and is it even worthwhile with an 84 over team?
Champs you only get a max of 25 games a week and thats all you can do. Those also do not have any ELO/SSBM in them so you could go against pros all 25 games if EA hates you enough so you get more CP for winning.
H2h is just regular online with some ELO/SSBM in so its slightly easier, not including cheesers/exploiters.
SB is just AI teams on varying difficulty, but if you just get what you need to do (ie 5 wins on legend or whatever) you can play rookie for teh rest of them to get what you need for the CP. Its dumb to do but not worth sweating over once you do the "harder" ones to get the easy ones done since they took out the points tiers.
But not enough cp in just the solo mode so I have to play h2h. That’s the problem, and I’m just going to fall further and further behind struggling to upgrade my team.

Its for online players. If you choose to play online thats up to you. You lose out on some coins, some packs, and ONE player. Its not a huge deal.
You can keep playing unlimited H2h to win to get points but they cap the SB on purpose and then they made champs all week but still only 25 games instead of just the weekend.

Look at the rewards you want and what objectives you think are obtainable.
I think that if you do around 15 MVP solo battles it’s approximately 2.75 CP/solo battle.
If you do get 15 wins in MUT champs it’s close to 6 CP/win; but you need to factor in MC losses as well; so closer to 3 CP/game.
Its crazy that you need a spreadsheet to figure out their rewards, but if you look ahead to what is obtainable in your playtime it’s more manageable.

I cannot understand why they haven’t made an objective worth 100 CP that is “get a SB score of 200k” or whatever a challenging score is.
