In case you haven't seen it, Bo Jackson is being brought into the game through the Nike Run Club app with a limited time promotion. From Oct. 3 - Oct. 10, Nike Run Club members who link their EA account and run 4 miles will have an 86 OVR Bo Jackson distributed to their account.
Wait? 86 OVR? Why would I worry about an 86 OVR?
Glad you asked, because that's the whole point of this post.
First of all, the card:

Now this isn't the first time EA has partnered with Nike for this kind of promotion. Last year, they offered a 94 OVR Aaron Donald for running 5 miles, which one could quicksell for 4,750 training. There are ways to complete the requirements for this promotion without ACTUALLY running; although, I am personally considering doing it legitimately because lord knows I could use it. Last year, it was reported you would get credit by riding a bicycle or even driving in your car around the block, so if running isn't your speed, it doesn't need to be a roadblock!
Now, let's get into the actual reasoning why you should get him:
- Free Legends and Raiders Team Chem
- For newer accounts, a free 86 will be very beneficial early on
- Free Quicksell value, if it follows the same trend as last year
- The art and frame look awesome...
- Potentially needed for a future Master set
- Investors and developers love engagement and reasons for new and existing members to download and keep their programs. EA is already permeating this idea with the Season Field Pass Master Set (ie Dave Casper can be put in a set with the two future Season Field Pass headliners to get a Master card) and with the MCS set (Jaylen Waddle, etc), so it's not hard to imagine they will expand that to other programs as well that aren't regular drops. Sure they may have done some of this before, but it is natural to expansion of a model that encourages players to engage in other platforms that you are partnered with.
- MCS is an EA partnership with Amazon to increase cross-engagement for both Madden and Twitch. Madden directs you to Twitch and promotes prolonged viewership and in turn you get rewards; meanwhile, larger numbers concurrently in Madden streams increases the games visibility on Twitch's platform theoretically bringing more engagement with Madden. This same kind of relationship can be utilized with Nike to promote engagement between the two parties; the reciprocal nature (quid pro quo) of a Nike and EA partnership should be obvious, especially since EA is bringing back College Football.)
Hopefully this encourages you to make sure you get this card for your account!
Promo Duration: October 3 - October 10
How to Obtain:
- Download the Nike Run Club app.
- Link your EA and Nike Run Club account that you create.
- When the promo starts look to see if you have to 'JOIN' the challenge
- 'Run' for 4 miles during the Promo duration
UPDATE: After signing up for the Challenge in the Nike Run Club app and looking deeper into the promo, they have already announced there will be two follow-up Challenges, one in November and one in December.
As an addition to getting in-game rewards, participating reserves you the right to purchase SPECIAL EDITION Nike Sneakers based off the card that is part of the challenge. The first Challenge is based off of Bo Jackson's time with the Kansas City Royals and has Light Blue as a primary color. If we, follow the taglines and Bo Jackson's career, it truly seems all three will be based on Bo Jackson and end with a Master version of the Legend.
UPDATE: Walking does seem to get tracked so this should be EASSSYYYY
Hopefully this helps
