Ok so Gilly Lock isn't that good

X-factor on. Pick artist and acrobat. Got one interception in solo challenges.

Decided to do some H2H. He got mossed by Julio Jones... with Shutdown activated. Need I say more? 

Turns out his best use was as a blitzer. Got multiple sacks. Doesn't really say much, because earlier on Demarco Murray got subbed in on defense randomly and got a sack himself. 

Kinda disappointed, but hey, that's 400k going into my coin stack so can't be too mad.

I haven’t tried Gilly but for me this year I’ve had to find which spots work best for certain CB’s. Some have played terrible until I found the right place for them and then they played insane.

I’m still using Deion as Slot CB for blitzes, I don‘t understand why but he gets to the QB better than any other CB I’ve tried, it’s puzzling.

Interesting. Well, the way I see it he didn't play any better than my other corners, so it wasn't worth keeping him around when I could have coins instead. 

The only way I want to keep a player on my team is if they are free or close to it, and don't sell for much. Basically why I have a bunch of BND players from sets and challenges.

But if Gilmore eventually become super cheap, I may experiment with him again. It just bothered me that my 93s were playing just as good if not better.

Gilmore is a standout on my legend tt.  He’s goated.  Discounted acro on CBs is what I was waiting for.  I run him at #2 in my nickel zone scheme but have been calling more man cover than zone plays and it’s actually working out even better than it had been.  Gilmore replaced Sherman who was very good but getting slow.  No regrets

I haven’t tried that x-factor yet tho.

I actually did not get this Gilmore card because his previous LTD was awful for me. He made no plays and gave up a lot of plays. He got mossed consistently. Even in my man scheme.

So I didn't bother to get this version

That's just my experience, which lines up with yours as well.

All good man, whatever works best for your team in the end. I’ve been in that same boat many times and went back to BND’s because I didn’t feel like the “new, better” cards were performing any better.

Yeah, and considering TOTY should be coming soon and there will likely be 3 96 ovr corners to choose from, I'm not desperate for CBs

I love it when my Ceedee lamb goes in on defense HE IS THE BEST USER.

This is disappointing to hear because I was going to pick him up and give him a shot.

I wouldn't let it completely discourage you, maybe I was just using him wrong. But it does seem like Gilmore cards get burned or mossed pretty often in Madden 23. Even in regs he doesn't seem to play well.

I did have moderate success using his last card so I think I might give him a shot.  I will probably wait and see who the legends are first before making a final decision.  Thank you for your info though.  It will definitely come in handy.
