Are there any drawbacks to playing OL in a different position? Looking to put a natural C at OG and wondering if I will see drawbacks from it.
thanks!

No drawbacks at all... Other than him not counting towards your Team Chem if he doesn't have the position as a secondary...

Thank you for the reply!
It's not a real drawback, but it does lower the player's overall - which will affect your team overall. So it depends on if that is an issue for you or not. It's one of the dumb things that EA has NEVER gotten right.
It lowers your players awareness. That’s why the overall goes down. So yes it does affect them negatively. I know for a fact it effects them negatively as I use OOP o lineman and it dumbs them down in play
I think most would disagree that it lowers the awareness... I have never noticed a lineman playing worse out of position, and i have played Centers out of position for years.. If you have been in the Madden Community for a while, you would see that some would even argue that the Centers Awareness carries over to the other linemen...

Madden vets, not mut new moneys know about the awareness thing moving people out of position
And the center awareness thing only applies to centers starting at center

Madden Vets? Not trying to be rude here, but your account was created this month??? 2022 on MutGG for me, and if you go check my Muthead profile (same user name), I created that in 2016?? So there definitely is no "New Money" here.
That being said, it has been the opinion of most "Old Madden Vets" for years and years, that moving players Out of Position does not affect their level of play.. And many "Old Madden Vets" are constantly putting O-line guys in other positions, TEs at FB, DEs at DT, or DBs out of position.
Maybe you had a bad experience or something, so that may have tainted your opinion, but that is not an opinion shared by most.
And yes, the Center thing applies to the Awareness of the starting Center. So if that awareness carries over to the rest of the O-line, it wouldn't matter what the awareness would drop to on a Center Out of position, because he would just have the awareness of the Starting Center anyways??
Anyways, to end this back and forth, I have played Madden since Madden 15, and have never noticed a drop-off in performance of O-Line guys out of position.

Accounts mean nothing. Stopped reading after that idiocy. Every thing you say here on out has zero credibility

Let's see, you stopped reading after the first sentence or so, but yet "Everything" I said has no credibility!!! Now that's Funny, since you supposedly didnt read it!!!! 🤣😅
I'm sure you'll be banned again, and will have to create another alt account here in a few weeks or so... Right Buddy????!!! 😁

I don’t notice a difference at all. When I go to compare players it doesn’t drop the awareness level. It might just be in ur head.

Lmao you can’t just not read someone’s reply and then say nothing they say matters, you sound like a child. Btw the centers awareness does affect the rest of the o line. You can look into more if you need to, some of the guys that work for ea even said it’s true. I believe the center’s awareness will cover the lowest awareness level of your online. So if you have a tackle at 95 awareness, guard 93, center 97, guard 95 and tackle 95 the centers 97 awareness will actually turn that 93 guards awareness into a 97.

Thank you for correcting this, i'm not sure how or why people think that AWR (or any stat, ability, etc.) are adjusted when playing certain cards OOP. This simply is NOT true. For example, i'm using Andrew Thomas at Center, he's still got the same 93 base AWR regardless of him being at his natural position (LT) or anywhere else.
However, the second portion is at least partially correct, based on my limited understanding of how gameplay scenarios actually work (or don't, depending on who you ask). I believe the way it was explained to me a year, or more ago, the Center on your team can and will replace the LOWEST Awareness rating on your O-line. So if your Center has 93 AWR and there's another starting offensive lineman, say with "89" AWR, that number would be supplanted by the actual Center's value. I have no clue how this functions when using OOP cards.
Regardless, stats barely matter, especially not in the end-game when almost all of the newly released cards meet all the minimum thresholds. I'm having zero issues running linemen OOP. Abilities are everything, if your OL has Secure Protector, they might block for you. Otherwise, blocking will be suspect, especially against any D-line X-factors, such as Unstoppable Force and/or Colossus. It's imperative we set up blocking adjustments pre-snap, such as identifying the Mike and sliding protections. Weight matters more than anything, linemen under 300 pounds are NOT going to block as well as the big boys, it's a huge component of blocking calculations, especially this year.
Thanks Droblunts and Peatrick for jumping into this conversation and confirming what most of us already know...
The killabuddaman guy is just completely mis-informed, or is too new to the game to understand!!!
