OLBs or Ends?

I run BNOG 99% of the time and have Defense Ends on the edges. Earlier in the year, I had OLBs on the edges and they got killed in the run game but there are so many good OLBs now (really want the new LT) and I'm curious how Ends play at edge for those that use four down linemen these days?

Interesting concept but I find most people don’t run more than a token amount this year.

I prefer D ends usually however Maniac hasn’t been terrible thus far. I’m a BNOG player primarily as well. LT played good in BNOG for me earlier in the year so i find it to be a card by card thing.

Great point. What do you think about the weight disparity in an OLB with his hands in the dirt against a heavy OT on passing plays, though?

Thanks! Does Maniac have trouble getting around a massive OT though with his weight and strength, or is it not an issue, regardless of the X-Factor?

Youre really looking for 1/0 AP DON and D rally (but they have to be the squares in the line). Maybe if you can get free no outsiders as well for run help. But weight/strength is going to be the next thign to look for after abilities.

I find with the x factor and his crazy stats in the pass game he gets off blocks quick. I run run stopper which seems to help him shed better against the run, obviously he’s not as good as a 270+ guy when tackling a bigger back but I haven’t had any obvious missed/broken tackles from him. Groot is really good as a DE on the other side as well. I’d probably get him first unless you run a tt.

I use maniac and jpp to Ruch with TOTY reddick as the backup rusher is this a good Strat? both aka's I use the factor for

DE’s have been most effective but some OLB‘s are so fast they have the same production as any of the good DE’s have for me.  Example: Haley and Clay Matthews.  When I have to choose I usually use the ends as my edge rushers.  But can depend on ability discounts too so whatever works at the time for you

I have Clay and Haley as my OLBs for my 33 Cub but might experiment and put them as rush RE and LE in my BNOG and see how that goes. I'm mainly just worried about stopping the run with the lighter OLBs. Skipped last year but used OLBs on the edges in my BNOG in '21 and it was never an issue, but I felt like I was getting abused earlier in the year this Madden with OLBs whose hands were in the dirt

Yeah didn’t think of that.  Scheme/playbook etc play a big part in these choices as well.  I run 4-3 most of time so 2 big ‘ol DTs for stopping run.  I use edge rushers mainly just passing plays and organic pressure.  I never actually blitz.  Defensive Rally is how I use them

Same! I only rush 4 out of BNOG and used to rock with 2 ETE + DONs for the edges with two big boys inside with DON + 1  Defensive Rally and I was doing just fine until last week when I couldn't get to the QB at all because of all of the Edge Pro's and Secure Pro's. Switched to Tank and Groot with both X-Factors and the pressure might even be more sporadic and inconsistent now lol. I have no idea what to do anymore

Are your edge rushers in your 43 Ends or OLBs?
