one step ahead, inside shade or outside shade? What’s the best ability?

might switch my scheme from Zone to man coverage. what’s the best abilities for man?

atm running pick artist, deep out (flat on NTL in slot) and acro on corners

Honestly I would just use Inside Shade on everyone since Gun Tight is the meta. IS, Acro, PA, and whatever combo of Short/Mid/Deep Route KOs you want.

Been in man most of the year... outside dbs you need at least 1 or 2 deep route kos and either a short/ mid ko, slot dbs mid or short. You can get away without using inside or outside shade with using the pre snap adjustments. Acro or at the least PA or tip drill are needs. One step ahead is a big get.

why do people go crazy over One Step Ahead? is it better to use in man than Inside shade? i only run zone so i don't know which abilities are best to use on man scheme

I’m also interested to see what the hype is with one step ahead. I put it on Patrick Peterson since he gets it for 1Ap. Just curious as to why it’s always hyped up. I’ve rarely seen anyone run it this year because of the high AP cost.

I think OSA is both shade abilities combined, but it’s only worth running if you can get it for super cheap, like on Pat Pete.

I like OSA because it cancels route tech and the non catch boost ability.

It’s only worth It on Pat Pete. It’s too expensive on every other player that can get it.

100% fact on that. Osa is better but cost way more ap than I'm willing to sacrifice. The shades are good based on where you play your db. Inside shade has made the most plays for me versus outside shade

Inside Shade or OSA for 1 AP is the way to go. OSA is best as it works both inside and outside.

Personally, I think the abilities are a bit overhyped and inconsistent from what I remember when I used it on Mike Haynes and he got beat plenty of times on deep crossers and corner routes. KO abilities on top are still a must.
