who agrees we need more oop card gold tickets because it is always the same weird random cards they make for the golden tickets or more in general am I right more oops?
I always love OOP golden tickets
If i was still running my all oop team, id agree with this, but im not anymore so im good either way, plus its not like im ever gonna get any gt’s other than the free brady and too tall ones
With how crazy prices are, unless you buy coins or flip cards crazy youre not gonna have more than one non free one.
I like OOP because usually theyre only a one time thing besides Megatron/Sanders.
If you are pro-OP tell me if you ever played football IRL, how much of a real NFL fan you are, how much history of the league you know. Because I played through JC and am a huge fan of the NFL and its history. And 99% of the over the top OOP garbage EA dropped this year is so unrealistic as to be in NFL Blitz territory. If that is the direction EA is going they just lost one of their big spenders because I have zero interest in a game that puts nobodies over HOF players and drops OOP cards that are blatantly unrealistic like a Too Tall CB.
It is unfortunate there are no choices for an NFL game. If EA did MLB they'd give Bob Ueker a gold 99 as a pitcher and Babe Ruth a 90 as a catcher.

Ultimate Team isn't supposed to be realistic, they have other game modes for that like Franchise and Exhibition. The reason they do OOP in ultimate team is because it gives us cards that are funny and good to play with (like 300 lb DTs or O linemen at HB or Fullback) and other cards that are really good like Calvin Johnson FS or Jimmy Graham SS.

Exactly. Anyone who says any of the ultimate teams are supposed to be real like are just fooling themselves. Thats why its UT. You can build it how you want. You dont leave it like real teams. Theres no more contracts or salary cap restrictions (but that would be funny for like a week)
You two didn't answer my questions.
Frankly, I'm betting you guys never played IRL at any serious level and know little to nothing about NFL history. That's all well and good but for the record MUT USED TO BE much more realistic. The top cards were largely HOF players not nobodies. But clearly EA has decided to cater to what I call "gamer boyz" like you guys that all you care about is how a top card plays, not if it is reasonably realistic. Betting you guys loved the fictitious Leon Sandcastle whack cards from a few years ago.
What I would like to see personally is a MUT that tries to respect reality so guys like me can use older legends in building a more realistic team. Obviously OOP cards EA drops undermine that, as do things like treating washouts like Taylor Mays as better than HOF'ers. CFM does nothing for a guy like me that wants to use legends in team building but reasonably realistic so. I mean should Johnny Unitas, the ultimate statue QB, have 90 SPD (on my team)? Uh, no.
Bottom line is EA has decided to cater to your crowd and stiff mine, so I can only assume my views are in the minority. But they will lose the significant $ I spend each year so let's see if the group they are catering to takes up that slack. Will be interesting.

no
Edit: I just lol'd my way through this. As said prior, youre looking for Franchise. This is a fantasy game mode. So nothing you say will change or be considered. None of those things translate to MUT or really madden at all. This isnt the game for you. Unfortunately, nobody has that game youre looking for and this one wont change to cater you.
I am sure they wont care if you spend less money because other people still will and the game will continue to go on Karen.

REALISM huh? Is it realistic when you put two guys who played 60 years apart on the same team? That's what I thought. I might not have played football IRL or know a lot about NFL history, but I at least have common sense.
Plus, "my crowd" makes up the majority of EA's customers. If you're disappointed that OOP cards exist or that your favorite players aren't all the best cards in the game, take it up with EA. I can guarantee you that EA isn't going to give up one of the biggest moneymakers in their games.

Your confession confirming my view is appreciated. Of course MUT involves a significant fantasy aspect, however, these cards don't represent cartoon characters, they represent real people. MUT would be just as successful if they attempted to maintain a reasonable level of realism. Would it break your heart if you played a gold 99 Ronnie Lott at SS instead of an exaggerated Taylor Mays? No. I'm sure it wouldn't. I doubt your crowd would feel deprived at all if Peyton Manning's gold 99 card was still slow as he was IRL. There seems to be some seduction with the OOP's that EA went crazy with this year, I can understand the draw of a hokey as hell 6'9" Too Tall as a gold 99 CB with 99 SPD/ACC/AGI. But you might as well drop a Godzilla card if you're gonna stretch reality that far.
Your views mean nothing except to your own ego and youre wrong in every aspect of the conversation.
Again, none of that translates to mut. With these types of games, its about Meta. Even if they did have Ronnie Lott 99. If he was the tallest/heaviest/faster player thats who would get played (could also be some joe shmo as long as hes the tallest/heaviest/fastest.) . Its not about who you like for most people but who plays the best with these types of coding they have.
Thats why Too Tall is so good. Hes super tall. Heavy. and they juiced his stats. Theyre also GT so theyre better than normal cards as well. The game you want doesnt exist and it wont be MUT even if prior installations were the way they were.
People like OOP because they are different and usually fun.

I think the 99 Too Tall CB was meant to counter the Ed Too Tall WR, that way people who spend money on the game can't just chuck the ball up to their 6'9 receiver and expect the to come down with it every time.
And I agree that EA went kinda crazy with OOP cards this year, but I still liked them even though I couldn't afford a lot of them.
Point is, Ultimate Team isn't supposed to be realistic. It's meant to be fun. And there are other game modes if you really want to put realistic players on the field. For example, people put hours into creating "Legend Fantasy Drafts" for Franchise Mode.
I would just appreciate it if you could be less negative regarding Ultimate Team and the people who play it. I understand fandoms and everything, but I don't understand why people would be so angry about a guy getting a 96 ovr card when it's not even going to be relevant by next Madden. It's a video game. Who cares if Taylor Mays isn't good IRL but is good in a video game. IT'S NOT REAL LIFE. It isn't meant to be realistic. Nothing you see on a screen is supposed to be completely realistic. It's fantasy.
