If you play a player out of position, do they get worse attributes or are they just as good, does it even matter that they are out of position, like fs at ss or CB at fs, does any of it matter?

For example: I have Charles Haley at RE vs his card position of LOLB. His overall reduces from 99 to 94 but he still plays like a 99
