PackStrike
A new and VERY popular movement (one of the top trending on Twitter) that encourages people to stop buying packs due to the really bad odds. But thats barely scratching the surface when it comes to the true meaning of this movement. For years we have know that EA is a greedy piece of 💩 company. But with Madden 23 they have taken the greed to a whole new level.Â
Packs:
Pack Odds
Pack odds have been very, very, very bad this year. How many of yall have actually had a good pull so far? A LTD from an 82+ or 84+ pack, etc. A great example of this is LTD Legends Cameron Wake. MUT.GG even kept him under the "Reveals" page for almost a week due to the amount of people that pulled him. How many times have you or someone you know bought a truckload of packs that costed at least 50 dollars and didn't pull anything. No LTDs, hell maybe not even anything above 87 OVR? I remember how in M22 the pack odds for Fan Appreciation packs were MUCH lower than in years past. Comparing the pictures that showed the odds of M22 FA packs and M20 FA packs showed how much EA "appreciates" their "fans". I don't wanna know how bad the FA pack odds will be this year.
Pack Rewards
Pack rewards in general also suck. EA wants me to spend 61K coins on an AKA pack (or 1,050 points), just for 2x 70+ OVR Gold players, 1x 77+ Gold player, and 1x 82+ AKA player? Making any profit from these is gonna be pretty difficult considering the extremely bad pack odds. Hell even the Legends packs this year suck, the LEGENDS packs. Also how does EA screw up with some simple toppers so consistently? The 50 and 100 dollar AKA bundles are supposed to give an 82+ AKA player (which is a bad topper considering people dropped 50+ dollars for the bundle). Instead, they gave out a RANDOM 82+ AKA player from ALL programs. How do you screw up something so simple EA? How?
Rerolls
Rerolls have always been a great way to make profit. Whether it was rerolls from a certain program or Training Variety Packs, it not only helped with profit, but made things more enjoyable knowing that there was always a good chance that you'd have a nice pull every now and then. But so far there have been ZERO rerolls this year. AKA was a great opportunity to add one. But no, all we got was an 87+ AKA player for 5 training. And EA just confirmed that they would be screwing us over again and will be doing the same thing for Gridiron Guardians. EA really does not want us to have a good experience playing this game in any way, shape, or form.
Content:
Amount Of Content
The lack of content, or things to do/complete, this year is pretty noticeable and annoying. 3 challenges PER WEEK from TOTW and 7 challenges PER WEEK from Legends for a grand total of 10 new challenges PER WEEK for two of the most notable programs in MUT. Yes, the first weeks of promos are larger due to more players for that first week, but after that the amount of new challenges drastically decreases. Yes, there are also more challenges from other programs, but not too many. After you complete those few challenges, all you can do is play H2H, MUT Champions, etc. And those don't even give the best rewards, which brings me to my next topic.
Content Rewards
One of the most notable things this year is the MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR issues with content rewards. Let's start with challenges. 4K coins PER WEEK from TOTW challenges. Not even a low elite. 1.4K coins PER WEEK from Legends challenges (they also give power ups for the set masters, but those don't even matter that much since it is hard to obtain the higher tiers of the Legends players, ESPECIALLY the seasonal and boss tiers). From AKAs 18 challenges for Release 1, a grand total of 6K coins and 2 82 OVR AKA fantasy packs! One of the highest number of challenges from a single program release and that is all we get! And how about the House Rules, Solo, and Field Pass rewards! SO SO SO MANY people either missing most of the rewards or not getting ANY rewards AT ALL! But we only have to wait a few weeks for EA to finally handout makerights! People have missed out on players and other rewards from these (like 6'4" 89 speed Tariq Woolen), due to EA screwing us over with the rewards. EA seems better at screwing up at simple things like giving out rewards right when we earn them than they are at actually making a decent game.
Power Ups:
One of the most helpful ways for both NMS players and spenders to upgrade cards and make profit were power ups and power up passes. But EA made the wonderful move of removing them from the game and for now only giving them to Legends. Now this limits everyone, ESPECIALLY NMS players, to how far they can go with their team. No power ups this year means the market is A LOT crazier, which brings me to one of the most notable things that help ruin this game.
The Auction House Market:
The market this year has been, for lack of a better word, H-O-R-R-E-N-D-O-U-S. Legends players being priced like Golden Tickets. AKA players going for 650K+ when some of them aren't even the best at their position. I get we can wait for them to lower in price, but they should NEVER be priced like this in the first place. Only exceptions are LTDs and cards that are clearly the best/top 5 at their position. Other than that, they should not be going for so damn much (one of the few times this wasn't the case was when the 2nd release of Ultimate Kickoff that included HB CMC, LOLB Von Miller, and LTD RG Brandon Scherff, which went for a few 100K lower than a lot of people expected). The fluctuations of prices before/after there is a new release of players is expected (or at least should be), but are a lot worse this year. Remember when the seasonal tiers of Rod Woodson's and Michael Vick's Legends cards were going for over a million? 88 OVRs going for OVER ONE MILLION!!!!!
Glitches:
This part I'm going to spend the least time talking about for one reason. A lot of the people participating in this movement (maybe even some of the people that see this) are constantly glitching other players in H2H modes. How can people complain about EA ruining the game for them when they ruin the game for others! These hypocrites piss me off more than anything else!
NMS Players Not Being Able To Compete:
NMS players have been suffering the most from some of the things mentioned above. The removal of power ups hinders NMS players from upgrading their players. The crazy market hinders NMS players from getting upgrades for their team for a decent price and let them make some profit. The lack of content rewards hinders players from doing a bunch of things. The list goes on and on.Â
Conclusion:
The game is in a terrible state right now. Hopefully this movement forces EA to make some changes to it. But then again, they're probably laughing at us knowing that they'll continue to make the game worse. Also this honouring Madden stuff with how bad the game is right now is pure and complete bullshit.
