Saw madden 25 in the Xbox store today, supremely bummed that last gen is still there.
I know not everyone has this take, but I really do feel like last gen ports are holding these games back at this point. Unless they're building it on next gen and outsourcing last gen to some random company, it really does just take resources away from the game.
It's especially interesting when you see it looks like CFB 25 is next gen only.

I read that the partners being the professional leagues NFL, MLB, NBA, FIFA, and formerly the NCAA force Game companies to make for as wide an audience as possible because they get a cut and poor peoples money spends the same. College Football has a deal with schools but is not beholden to a sports governing body so they get to make the game they want and don’t have to listen to partners hence not even PC gets College Football 25. Your post does read like a bit like an anti poor post though I must agree

Shucks man, I'm real sorry that the console that came out 4 years ago you can't get. If only you could play Madden still on last gen... like, Madden 22, 23, 24.. and have a very similar experience considering last gen doesn't update as much..
I was 7 still playing on my grandmother's hand-me-down original Xbox and even I understood then why they mostly stopped support and moved onto the 360. 7 and I understood and wasn't angry I couldn't get a shiny new console, as there was PLENTY of games to still play.
Smh man, the sense of entitlement at this point. Pretty sure more people would benefit from dropping the old consoles than people would lose out at this point, I'm sorry you haven't been able to get an upgrade yet, I truly am. I'm looking at the games health as a whole though and what would be best for the actual game, not your feelings.

If anything holds the game back that is “truly” a hot take on these boards, it’s MUT itself. The game used to innovate in so many ways before “virtual card packs”. Even MUT itself used to be so much better. They do not care about anything other than squeezing as much cash out as little of an investment as possible and as long as ppl continue, it stays that way. Old consoles ain’t the issue with the game. Old coding skeleton, fa sho!
I feel the same way about old people. After a certain amount of years, just get rid of it. spend the money on something newer

Yep, it's pretty pathetic at this point companies haven't moved on so they can milk last gen as much as possible. Feel like I wasted money buying a Series X just so they can not take advantage of the power.

I'm guessing you've only been a gamer since the last 2 generations. Because it was never like this before. Once the next systems came out they got the games. Not the ones we moved up from.
Also. We are almost 4 years into this generation. People could have upgraded by now with a 10 bucks a week allowance from their mommy.
With all the handouts and tax returns people are out buying TVs and systems every February. Being poor nowadays almost puts you in a better spot than the middle class.

second, my point wasn’t that consoles move on. If they don’t release madden 25 on ps4 it’s fine. I don’t care much. It’s people encouraging it, and celebrating it in a way that’s classist as hell for no reason that annoys me.
