I am looking to upgrade my "FS" to either 97 FS R.Jones or 97 SS D.James (of course converting Derwin to an FS)...I continue to lean towards Derwin(stronger abilities/ratings) but looking to this GREAT MUT.GG community to assist...Thanks to everyone who replies...

I don't have him, but the only real "knock" which I place in air quotes because it's not really, is his 96 base speed. Not terrible for deep Safety, but honestly I think he kind of works best as an outside corner, with Deep Out + Mid Zone KOs for a mere 1AP. That's elite. I simply prefer to have Deep Zone KO (both deep in and deep out) on my FS. And OSA X-factor is more Man coverage ability.
Ultimately I took Tariq, he gets similar stack for 2AP, taller, better X-factor in Universal Coverage and top end speed, can easily be at 99 with strategy card. Derwin Genki also truly elite, I believe he gets possibly best ability stack of them all, same as above, but also includes Pick Artist for 2AP.
Honestly, I would try to match up Abilities and perhaps any relevant Combine motivator boosts or chems, these become kind of a big deal if you're able to get a couple 3/3 sets going. Great problem to have, so many excellent choices, you can't really go wrong, but I'd lean towards any of the Combine. Bravo to you for sleeping on such an important draft decision. I love Reshad as my outside CB opposite Deion, but I am running a 60 combine team so he's significantly boosted. I have not tried Derwin but I think Reshad would be better if you can get to 30 Combine at least.

I put Brian Branch (Sugar Rush CB) at SS opposite Justin Simmons (Combine) at FS.
Branch has DZKO/MZKO for 1 AP which is superior to both of those options. Jones and Derwin only have DOZKO rather than DZKO which covers outside and inside.
You'll also save about 100k coins with Branch.

He hasn’t said yet but it almost seems like he’s at his 97 bnd s5 player choice and he’s narrowed it down to upgrading his safety spot. I may be wrong but if that’s the case branch wouldn’t be an option Although that’s great advice cause branch is a damn dawg wherever you put him

unless you have the g force upgrade cards, do not go with derwin. g force promo and objectives have been removed so no way of getting upgrades unless you buy 96ovr gforce players

Thank You doncoy+Law+Chiefs for your insite...Fortunately, I still do have both of the Genki Force g-force upgrades (unless there were 3+?)...I'm hoping to hold out on my decision until HOF releases Thursday...Greatly appreciate any additional advice/opinions...Thanks all

Even in this case, I'd still take Woolen over both of those and put him at safety. I played Woolen with Universal at FS and Simmons at FS until I got the Branch egg. Now Woolen is end game outside corner given the height/abilities.

I wouldn’t get hung up on overalls with out of position players. They play to their stats and abilities, not overalls. 99 speed and zone/man coverage is going to play the same at CB or S.
