Any penalties for this? Thinking of putting UL Ken Houston at CB because stat wise he'd basically be a GT at that spot. Noticed he drops to a 96 though. I also remember putting Kam Chancellor as a slot CB at one point, but don't remember him playing that well. Just curious if the AI punishes (AWR, PRC etc...) for this type of sub. Also, I play mostly man D. Thoughts?
The card overall will go down based on the way the players overall are calculated for a corner via stats which is calculated differently from safeties. No stats will change and their won‘t be any other penalties unlike in MLBTheShow where you get penalized for players who are OOP.
AFAIK it was just AWR.
But if they have an alt slot open and you put CB on it then no it shouldnt drop.
There is no penalty for doing this in MUT22. Some of the previous Maddens dropped the AWR when playing someone out of their position. I’ve used Troy P and Sean Taylor at Slot CB and they both played pretty well. Obviously Sean T has lower MCV so I only had him at CB for zone looks. In MUT21 I had some lineups with zero CB’s and it was pretty fun because there were so many good safeties.

Oh didnt realize they changed it. Thats cool. Should have done more GT Safeties then lol
Thanks for the input fellas. Think I'll try Ken out and see how it goes.

Yeah I feel like there were better safety choices in 21 with the GT Carl Banks SS, GT Metcalf SS, and even Isaiah Simmons SS. I think part of it is just that the players seemed to move better in 21 in general. I miss that GT Jim Thorpe CB too. Damn now I wanna go play MUT21 again but I get bored waiting for H2H matchups.

Yeah those would be some great examples.
Besides the ones you listed. Mckinnie/Ngata/Carr lol/Mays/Marcus Allen/Julio just a few off my head.

Not convinced the overall goes down "based on the way the players overall are calculated." Example, Logan Ryan fully PU 98 safety card inserted at corner has a lower rating than his 97 corner card, even though each stat is better in the PU. Overall is still lower even if you apply the CB secondary position in the PU. I feel like EA made this a "ghost nerf" to discourage from putting players out of position.
That's my thought. The drop can't be based on calculated stats based on position. Ken Houston stats:
SPD 98 ACC 99 AGI 98 COD 98 JMP 99 PRC 98 AWR 98 MCV 98 ZCV 99 PRS 93 CTH 99 CIT 96 SPC 97 TAK 91 POW 95 BSH 98 IBL 96
Makes no sense that he'd be a 97. He's a top corner in the game with those stats.
