I was looking on abilities and some say 99 overall to unlock. Say I have zero chill sneed but to get pick artist he has to be a 99. Can I only achieve this by using a theme team for the chemistries or is there abother way? Thanks

It has to be a base 99 overall there are no 99 overalls in the game rn

I'm almost certain you're looking at the first slot. Different slots have different abilities available to them. You can look up players in the database and see how it works. Look at the different slots for Sneed here:

You'll notice there are abilities in Slot 3 that aren't available in Slots 1 or 2 like Lurker and Pick Artist. The farthest right slot always has the most options available to it and it's telling you that to get the ability you want in Slot 1, you'll need to be 99 OVR.
Related to your question, you can't use chemistry boosts to hit ratings thresholds for abilities. They have to be stock on the item or from Power Up ratings boosts.

Thank you so much. I was looking at the first ability spot next to x factor and it was locked. I went to the third ability slot and I can equip it there. Thank you so much!

The closer to 99 it is upgraded, then the higher chance of the ability is of moving up to the first slot.
