I think the up coming Trey Hendrickson card will be LTD.
if I save as many packs as I can, and open them when he comes out, will each pack have a small (probably very small) chance of pulling him? Assuming the pack in question has a chance of doing so (hail mary, mid field, redzone, 70+, etc).

I always save my packs and only open them when LTDs are live. If you don't need immediate coins or players to build your team I don't see a downside. But keep your expectations very very low. I haven't pulled a limited in at least 4 years.
According to the companion app, this year I have opened 945 packs, which might give you some idea of the odds.

You aren’t opening enough packs man, I pulled so many in 23, didn’t play much last year. Got the legend LTD yes and 3 90+ fulls from legend packs yest

Yea i figured odds were really low.
but it’s nice to know there’s at least a chance! Crossing my fingers for hendrickson.

I never save any packs. Theres pretty much no packs in the game with good stuff in them besides the ones you can buy with money.
Hail Mary midfield and redzone packs will almost always have the same crap in it regardless of when you open them

I save mine up until something I would like to have comes out (much like your plan)...it has never worked...but...there is a chance so figure a really small chance beats no chance at all. If you don't need the stuff in the packs now I think waiting is worth the try.

This has nothing to do with your question directly, but if getting coins is as important as pulling an LTD, you’re best off opening packs when the cards are worth something. The value of most cards, including especially elites, can drop off fairly quickly.
I’m saving my fantasy packs for Team Diamonds. In MUT 24, some of those cards could net you a lot of coins.
