Game started off with the high kick onside kick. Fortunately I recovered. This is sad didnt know this was thing this year. Was up 14 to 7 on user AS**30 when he pauses the game after a pick and suddenly after I hit resume play, what do you know stuck on the pause screen fora good 10 minutes. He must of gotten tired of holding up his xbox so he unfroze it. I proceeded to score and then he pulls a glitch where i pick my play but the game just continues to pan around the stadium as if he's still picking his defensive play. Waited another good 10 minutes and he I guess he finally quit and I got the "connection to your peer has been lost" popup.

I played that EXACT person yesterday (ASO*** -- name redacted, for privacy purposes) and he tried to pause-freeze me out, as well. I have crossplay enabled, couldn't recall which system he was on (i'm on PS5). I ultimately managed to wait him out, or i dunno. I went and made a cup of coffee, took a piss, doom-scrolled on my phone for a bit. I don't always have this much time on my hands, but heck it's a holiday weekend, zero chance i'm letting some chud ruin my good time. And losing is not an option. :-P
I'd be curious to know if there's any way to combat this. I tried mashing all the buttons, even press and held X for 30+ seconds, just for giggles -- to no avail. I guess i should have reported the dude, but does Sony contact EA to handle these type disputes, or how's that work with cross-play situations? I won and happily moved on. Should have known he was out there griefing folks this entire weekend. Sorry you got caught up in the same madness. Why even bother doing that, what a miserable schmuck.

He's an xbox user. Total douche. He ran stretch all game and 0 man blitz on defense.

I managed to shut him down, this Cover 2 Press is unique and great in both run and pass coverage, can often get free rusher via A-gap blitz. Press DBs, pinch D-line (do it in this order, as pinching the entire defense can mess up your SUBLB blitzer) and finally crash/rush interior D-line to the outside. You can only find this play in Multiple & 46 playbooks, but it's been fantastic for me. Curl Flats set to 30 yards, individually back up outside corners.
I have 9AP invested in my DBs, using KOs all around. Deep Out Zone KO (x2) on outside corners and Deep In Zone KO on Ronnie Lott, then finally LurkArtist on big Ted Hendricks.
Might want to take his username out or this will get locked.

How do you pinch just d-line?

THANK YOU, totally spaced on that. Appreciate the heads up, saving me from myself. Definitely same dude.

Left on the D-pad, then flick down on your stick. Right on the D-pad will bring up your Linebacker adjustments, while Left is for D-line.
OR you can pinch the entire defense (including all DBs) using the right bumper (R1 on Playstation) and down. Typically these would achieve the same thing as Press + Pinch D-line, but we want to purposely avoid making any movements or adjustments to the SUBLBs, well primarily leave the default position for the blitzing LB as shown here:

Wow dude thanks! What playbook is that in?

Sorry, left this in a prior message, but it's super unique coverage in the sense that you'll only find this in 46 & Multiple D (alternate) playbooks.
I'm using 46. It's slightly difficult to set up, you'll see various recommendations, but the BEST approach is to ensure that your off (blitzing) SUBLB absolutely cannot move from his starting position... which is why the order of defensive adjustments matters. Press, THEN pinch D-line, as doing both together will slightly move your SUBLB down. If it works out, you'll know, because the blitzing SUBLB basically just walks directly to the opposing QB untouched for basically insta-sack.
It can be difficult to generate organic pressure sending 4, so this is pretty nice IMO. Spend 10 minutes in practice mode and you'll see how often this gets home, if set up probably. It's extremely frustrating.
And I believe the counter to these type blitzes is to simply shift your O-line to the right. That's it. Makes no damn sense. If all else fails, try DB Fire 2, it's great with few adjustments. Good luck, have fun! Hope that mostly makes sense.
Slightly unrelated, but something I noticed, and I'm wondering if I'm just paranoid:
Is there a way to cause lag in a game?
I've noticed a few games where I get up a couple scores, and suddenly I'm having a hard time making adjustments, kicking field goals, and calling plays.
I don't want to know HOW to do it, I just want to know if there is some BS method sore losers go to for intentional lag?

I lost 3 games today with that BS
