Rant thread...I tried Dollar and it was horrible - like a breakfast buffet full on PANCAKES

I thought I had the perfect dollar lineup, but was nervous I may not be able to stop the run

And it was awful, I got DESTROYED in the run, even doing spinner

...had to switch back to 6-1

I had Klecko, Mario Williams and Hutch - all with eveyr possible run stopping ability

I had Seau, Ryan Clark as Nickle LBs both with reinforcement

I had Asante Samuel, CJ Gardner Johnson with reinforcent in the slot

Then Tatum, Ryan Neal, Revis, Larry Wilson with Secure Tackle but no reinforcement

.

Ryan Clark and Seau coudlnt shed a single block

My slot CBs would still get pancaked

I was not impressed with reinforcement

Im back to Cub 3-3 Nickle

Crazy.  I run dollar no matter what and even get goalline stops with dollar.  But if you find what works for you just stick with that, no reason to try to force dollar to work.

How can your user get past 2 Olineman to stop inside runs

I shoot the gaps with my user in spinner.   Priority is to cover the middle gap on inside runs and to ensure they don't bounce outside on stretch runs.   Outside runs are usually covered by blitzing dbs and inside run with either sub lb.

Sorry gents but its massively annoying seeing people play 3 down lineman on their own goaline and, 90% of the time I will rightfully destroy it. Dollar should never be a go-to D to stop the run. Its ridiculous you're even having a discussion about it.

Exactly! Dollar at best should be a great pass defense. It baffles my mind as to how many people attempt to stop run heavy sets with dollar. Like instead of watching some youtuber who his rigging video to generate views, go look up some NFL film clips and look at how real life defensive coordinators scheme and plan to defend various formations. You will be better off in the long run doing that.

If the O Tackles have nasty streak, wont they destroy blitzing DBS on the outside

I tried shooting Gaps with my user down the middle but a O Guard will normally pick me up and hold me

No need to be sorry.  It's the way madden is coded.  I wish it was more like real football but 90% of the time I can stop any run with it so why change what I'm doing?  I built my team to run dollar so that's what I live in.

I don't watch YouTube or buy ebooks.  I just learn from my games and dollar is just really good in madden which isn't real football unfortunately. It's what my team and abilities are built for and so I use it since it gives me the biggest chance to stop my opponents, nothing more to it than that.

Takes practice, I've ran dollar All year so I've had lots of practice.   As I said, don't try to force dollar to work for you if you're already having success with other formations.

Fair point.  I still find that using running stopping forms to stopping run schemes and pass defense forms to stop passing schemes is better because you can transfer that information from madden to madden, but to each their own.
