How does RT compare the the Short in Elite class of abilities? They both seem to do the same thing. I'm hoping RR can replace them all but I suspect not.

They are pretty much the same thing only thing I have noticed is that route tech lights more consistently against man coverage
Someone recently said it best. Basically SIE creates separation on the first cut and route tech creates separation on the last cut. If you WR is running a route that cuts once, route tech lights up since it’s the the last cut as well as the first cut.
So route tech is basically going to do everything SIE does and more…making it the better option. Also SIE only works on cuts inside the numbers. In or out doesn’t matter as long as the cut is inside the physical numbers. There may be a misconception there that’s why I point it out. Route tech works everywhere I believe.

Amazing explanation, sorry to hijack, but does slot-o-matic combine SIE & SOE?
Route Tech only gives you faster cuts, but it does it on every route. Short In gives you faster cuts AND boosted catching, but only on routes that break less than 10 yards from the LOS, inside the numbers. So, in essence: Route Tech gives you more separation on routes but not boosted catching. Short in gives you boosted catching AND more separation, but only on short routes.

Just to add to this...Short in only gives you more separation on routes that break inside the numbers not all short routes.
Also, at this point in the game I don't think boosted catching matters. Maybe on HBs but not really on TEs and WRs.
