Every year just too test out the new year running mechanics I try to start with a run only scheme to figure out how strong running is vs passing unfortunately best formation I can find for blocking is literally goalline but yeah I've been getting smacked more than in past years so probably just gonna go 5 wide this year passing seems to be too easy, anyone having success with a run heavy scheme?

Same plays that worked last year, work this year.
I use the Heavy Run PB and do fine...stretches and runs out of shotgun seem to do fine. Not overpowered, but...it works.

Unfortunately the Colts playbook does not have the often abused Stretch Alert Bubble or whatever was so overpowered/overused last year. Anyone (that i have seen streaming) that actually runs the ball are typically playing on All-Madden difficulty and using Spin, Spin, Spin to scurry their way to glory.
Defense (except double A-gap blitz) is basically non-existent this year. Hopefully we'll see a patch this week, but i'm probably delusional to think that EA will be able to fix any of these issues, let alone on their first attempt.
I don't use it nearly enough, but the high point passes are back this year. Tall receivers, especially ones liek Maserati Marv (with activated Double Me, starts ON) will absolutely moss DBs. If you know how to rocket catch, you'll do quite well passing the ball. Stretch (or outside zone) runs with WR motion blocking to the outside / strong side can be effective, at times, but i've had an extremely difficult time, even against the CPU.
It's certainly a passing league, that's the only thing this "simulation" football game has in common with the actual NFL.

Wow thanks for all the info, yeah I remember that stretch bubble was pretty fake I always want to run a balanced run scheme so I can flip the run like single back ace is a really great balanced formation that you can run /pass with assuming running doesn't blow completely this year

I've had a particularly brutal time trying to run the ball from under center, for whatever reason. I guess probably the double A-gap blitz is the reason, but more often than not, i'll get sacked before i'm even able to hand the ball off. I know i don't have the best O-line that exists in the game, but it's also not terrible.
I had a nice little four+ play under center mini-scheme from the Eagles playbook last year that felt super balanced, almost exactly as you described, but haven't quite gotten there (yet) this cycle. Yesterday i started tinkering with the Seahawks offense, just for giggles. Not sure if i'll continue using it, but i wanted to test the roll-out glitch before (hopefully) it gets patched. I guess we'll be lucky if they even address the route stem glitches, let alone the equally brutal to defend roll out stuff. The game will get extremely nasty once we get some QBs that can reliably throw on the run.
Heck, even Jayden Daniels sheer speed makes him quite dangerous, able to either scramble or throw prayers to corner routes. I know how brutal this was to defend in M24 and it's definitely back this year. Oof.

Peatrick,
Do you know what play book may have a good end around?
The Steelers playbook had a great one last year, but this year it appears to have been replaced with a jet sweep.
I like the end around better because the receiver running is a little further back off of the line, and once we get those pesky Colossus and Unstoppable force Ends and Outside LBs, having the extra space to make a move will be important.
Thanks!

Oh maaan, i really shouldn't be encouraging this type behavior. That end around play was notoriously buggy and difficult, as defenders never seemed to react to it properly, allowing huge gains. Anyway, i won't hate the player, but i will definitely continue to hate on the game.
I'm not familiar with the M24 Steeler's version you referenced, but i believe the J-E-T-S (M24) playbook also had an end around that i used once or twice. As far as this year, well... i have yet to take a deep dive through playbooks, in fact, i'm just starting to branch out a bit. Perhaps look into various Singleback Bunch formations, although i've had a brutal time this year with basically any under center formations. The double A-gap blitzes tend to devour my QB before i'm even able to hand off the ball.
Playbooks with the End Around Lead i am thinking of:
- Balanced
- Broncos
- Browns
- Cardinals
- Cowgrrls
- Patriots
- Run N Gun
There's also a play action variant, in case you want to keep your opponent guessing.
For comparison, here is the old / original from M24 -- gosh i really prefer the old school playbooks and play art. This AI generated crap better become relevant and useful (i.e. CUSTOM playbooks) in order to suffer through this madness. Sorry if this isn't what you were asking about, but hope that helps.
EDIT: oh yeah, just triple checked, that also appeared in the Pitt offense last year (M24). Hopefully we got it.
All my rambling and nonsense aside, i'm mostly using the Singleback Wing Stack, which i believe can be found in a ton of different playbooks. I went back to Indy, as it was most familiar with last year's Phillie that i used for a long time.
Trying to figure out the best adjustments to take advantage of these runs. This is one of those instances where you'd probably see the Jet Sweep. I'm probably going to have to try this out with Vernon Davis at WR. I regret selling George Kittle, i want Juice and Georgie blocking for The Duke.
Don't be shy about running these (stretch type) plays to the weak side, even if they come out with default (strong side) as default setup.

Cool. Thanks.
I like the version without the play action.
I find that play action is another killer when you face the juiced-up defenses.

I almost always regret calling PA, as you so accurately mentioned. Before I can even mash right trigger to cancel the fake hand off, my QB gets swarmed and hauled to the ground.
Saw this M25 run video, he happens to be using same (Colts) playbook that I've been in. Maybe you can borrow some ideas, he's far and away a better and more knowledgeable player than I'll ever be.

Good stuff!
Those are 3 of my favorite run plays at the moment based on the playbook I am using.
The tips are helpful.... I am normally a bruiser and like to maul. Blunt force and a bit of skill are enough to dominate the CPU. But if I ever get all the content owed to me and decide to play some Head-to-Head, the tips will probably help me win more and help each play produce more yardage!

I just looked on Madden 24 and the play was in a single back bunch formation.
Bunch formation is not in single back this year (Steeler Playbook).
Boooooo!
EA keeps taking from us.....Rookie Premiers, Ultimate Alumni Players, XP, Legend Tokens, hard earned money, and now formations from playbooks.

Ya, i think i might finally be at the end of my rope. I want to love MUT (or really any) "simulation" fatball game, but this certainly ain't it. I was suckered in by the Duke and Juice AKA drops, two 49er LTDs in the same day. EA really knows how to extort me.
H2H is abysmal, the content is constantly late (or entirely missing, as you pointed out). It's not liek EA is going to all of a sudden figure it out and start dropping fire content. They've clearly demonstrated to us how things will go... which means even more and more of the same, tired, constantly recycled content. TOTW dropped today with what, 6/6 Stars that are achievable via Solo Challenges? My Solo Battles finally magically re-appeared after a full week of being stuck. Now whenever i complete a game, it tells me 0 Points, so i'm unable to progress to the Legends tier. Whatever, rewards are terrible no matter if we're grinding H2H, or worse yet, stuck in this offline solo mode. I played through a full (30-0 game) offline Solo Season, just to get three Hail Mary packs. Which were mostly liek 70-74 OVRs, i might have gotten one or two 78s. Wonderful.
I'm sure i'll check things out again once the NFL finally opens up that exclusive license nonsense, but EA is making it extremely difficult to care anymore. I'm expecting my beloved 49ers will have a brutal season coming off the Superbowl hangover. Maybe i'll be fully checked out from the NFL by October or November, oof. Unfortunately, that is looking liek the best case scenario (for me, personally) at this point. Breaks my heart to have to admit any of this, but i've remained delusional about my hopes for Madden for far too long.
Why don't we have custom playbooks? BOOM Tech is literally nothing, what the fuck did they spend a full year of development time doing? Any of the "new" features are simply imported from College Football. This is not my idea of fun, should have grown a pair of balls and walked away long ago. Unfortunately, i've been ridiculously addicted to MUT. Bleh.

Peatrick.....
I have very similar opinions to yours. We most certainly should be able to customize a playbook! I forgot to mention that they took the Comp Pass. We definitely need the additional higher end rewards and packs that were given out in the Comp Pass. EA keeps taking and taking and taking. It appears that removing content and holding our paid for and earned players for ransom is what they "schemed-up" in the last year.
Do not give up on the solo battles! Even though you are not seeing a Battle Score or advancing in the standings, it is secretly keeping score and will reward you with packs full of players in the low 70's. If you keep up the hard work, and put in many, many, hours, and play dozens of games, you can turn these low 70's cards in to slightly higher low 70's cards! It will do nothing towards improving your team, but just imagine all the excitement of opening a pack that could give you a 74-75 OVR player!
