I feel your pain! Sometimes I feel like after a major life sucking grind like that there's a subliminal part of you that just want's to "F" it up to remind you not to subject yourself to those kinds of grinds! 
I'm a small-time MUT player,  if it's over 100k I pause on the confirmation screen instead of just mechanically rushing through it. Just because there's no way back and someone always ready to snipe! 
How crazy is it that the guy was live-streaming so we all get to see his reaction on sniping it? And a non-money player...I'm with you, I'd be sick about it but seeing the other end of it and that he's gonna play it for a bit kinda eases it a bit, happy for him. 

(BTW, I'm  54yo and just returned to playing Madden since my 14yo son is so into it. and I'm laid up with back/hip issues)  I played a lot in the 90s/00s, and worked onsite summers at Atari beta testing stuff in pre-internet days!   I actually do have an Apple IIGS that I played the first edition on. Can't find the original box but still have the software. It's been packed away after a move, gonna set it up soon because his friends are dying to try it out. They had a gaming night at school a few years ago, my kid was the hit of the night with a NES, PS2, and Atari Lynx. We had the original Atari Entertainment System but fried the video output that day trialing it out.)

If this really was you.... all I can say is a lot of guys (myself included) have made blunders on the AH.  Maybe not as big as yours... but still I can certainly emphasize.  It's easy to make a mistake like that with the companion app.  

A few years back, I pulled a Combine Chris Johnson that was selling for about a milly and I accidentally posted it for 250 coins using the app!  It was gone in a millisecond.  It was late in the year and I already had a God Squad and tons of coins so I  just wrote it off as a lesson learned.  But it still sucks nonetheless.

No doubt.   I have made those mistakes in the past. But not a 9 million coin player. Lol
