So I ran with NTL, Deion, and Revis in the nickel. LTD Woolen and Haynes are my 4 and 5.
Revis played great, I put outside shade on him. NTL and Deion have pick artist. Ran my usual D, some man press thrown in...and while Deion's press is below 90, it's never been a problem.
All of a sudden he started getting beat, not just off the press but in general. NTL was a force. But Deion got picked on. I had to sub in Haynes.
Anyone else notice a decline in his play lately?
He’s been so hit and miss for me. Sometimes he jumps any route, other times he gets no animation and completely Moss’d. I usually play him outside but just picked up Slay and Woolen, moving Casey Hayward to 4 and Deion to slot but honestly if he wasn’t Deion… and a free card, I don’t know if I would use him

I agree with this, Deion shows up when I don’t expect it and gets burnt when I think he shouldn’t. Been very unpredictable.
I've started rotating him to my safety over the top in some dime sets and he has been great. Noticed the same hit or miss but it could have just been my adjustments making him play bad. Over the top though, he tracks everything.

I agree. I am leaning towards benching him unless he does well in the slot
Are you running him in press? His press is bad, so always make him backed up a bit. He's played great for me

And now Moss can't catch. Wow. I actually tried out Larry Fitz and he was better than Moss. Crazy how all of. a sudden cards just change how they perform

I am pressing with him but his press is 87 I think which isn't as bad as in past Maddens but even when I don't press with him he gets beaten.
I sort of need to play press in some of my coverages, my other CBs have high press and man....So he's kind of the odd fit which sucks because he's a free card with great attributes....
Deion isnt good this year because it’s a free card. If I ever see him one vs one in man coverage I’m tossing it up to my receiver who is a foot taller than him every time

However I don't see any 7 footers at WR this year LOL.... but I get your point. He gets caught over more than guys 3" shorter than him do
Just so you know, Outside Shade is almost completely useless on a slot corner as most slot routes are going to break inside the numbers. If you like running press man I would suggest moving NTL inside and running Mid Route KO/Pick Artist for a total of 2 AP. He's also much better in run support. Deion's press was never really a problem for me either, but I recently moved him to FS, and he has been much better there.
Half of the time he balls out for me while other times he allows 100 yards and 2 tds
i Just think that he was that much better because he was facing cards that were 90-92. The cards have caught up to him

I have a clip from a couple of years ago where I had a shorter CB against a taller WR go up for a jump ball. And I paused it when they were both mid-air going up for the contested catch. Both fully stretched out, the taller WR was about double the size (in height) as my CB, Kyle Fuller. Just using the screen as scale, the WR high-pointed the catch roughly 15 feet in the air, and my fully stretched out, reaching up in the air CB barely had his toes 6” from the ground at the peak of his jump.
point being, if you’re not tall, you’re short!
