So we'll need to play all 28 in order to place top 100. Yikes.
Nice that we can finally see the actual scoring criteria after years of EA refusing to officially confirm it.
A heck of a lot to achieve in a short space of time if one wants have a 'perfect' game, but those with Top 100 ambitions who kept missing out now knows officially what's up.

I hate to say this, and of course this is an assumption by me, not fact. But I’m pretty sure there are going to be a ton of offline sweats doing all 28, so in order to get on that leaderboard, especially early in the year, I bet all 28 games will need to be played.
Maybe as the year goes on and people have better teams, coins stacks, or are just burnt out, less games will be required of you to play to crack the “top whatever” you’re aiming for.
Been having this discussion with friends about Solo Battles and we believe that the Leaderboard and ranks will change from a set number of battle points to something similar to what is done in NHL/Hockey Ultimate Team (possibly FIFA too but I've never played) This is the description from the HUT Squad Battled FAQ:
Leaderboards/Rewards
As you play Squad Battles games and earn Battle Points, you’ll be placed in a Weekly Seasonal leaderboard. Leaderboards consist of a Top 100, where the best rewards are earned, along with 12 tiers below.
The threshold to reach each tier is based on a percentage of all Squad Battles players, so this means you can drop ranks if other users start earning more points than you.
The rewards for each tier can be viewed in the ‘My Rank’ tab within Squad Battles, the higher you rank, the better the rewards!
Will be interesting to see how it all works out

That sounds awful lol. Means you have to sweat harder to stay up.

I don't like it either - although the point requirements for each tier would likely be lower than what they currently are. Depending on what the rewards are for each tier then it may not be so bad.
Of course this is all speculation but based on the amount of games and the seemingly low number of potential points for each game it makes sense that they would change the rank/tier system too
What they need to add is the replay feature. In NHL you can pay 500 coins to replay an opponent to try to get a higher score
