First comp pass you could get it with a tiny fraction of online play. Depending how they do it, probably takes more now. But solo battles are just full game solos with varying difficulty. Its not that bad.

Rechecked the math for someone else. You get 156 tokens for all the non Mut Champs if you do it all both weeks (included 30 H2h wins both weeks). Then you have to win 12 Mut Champs games (preferable at least 10 in one week for the bonus CP)
I think sb grinders should be able to get the player. If they want to make better rewards past that no problem. Most people that are solely online probably won't even need the player as a top tier starter. I used to play online but the toxicity made me miserable. If I could play with like minded people I'd be happy to play again but it seems to bring out the lowest of human behavior

I think theyll always make it top tier if not close to top tier to edge people to play online for it or for those that do, to get a free player. Im sure most of them will be good for quite some time as well. TLaw will keep you till you get ability Qbs. You wont get rid of Woolen for a LONG time being 6'4, super fast and good stats. Even if hes CB4.
Tbh I think they should do one of two things. Move solos from the competitive pass and create some other offline pass and also make the point system matter again. Otherwise why keep the point system at all. It’s weird that it means nothing and we still get the top 100 and my rank screen. Or just add MUT Drafts to the competitive pass. Only allow offline players enough CP to get to the player (200 CP) with a combo of Mut Drafts Offline and Solo Battles and the 2 weekly grinds. Online players can use any of the modes and get all the extra rewards past 200. They already get lots of coin from the matches right. Solo battles do not. What makes offline so bad right now is you have to grind with the end goal of playing online. Which is not the end goal any offline player wants. I think the MUT Drafts option is the better option as it brings MUT Drafts back into relevancy. Let’s save that mode as it is fun but the rewards have always been bad and right now it has nothing to do with the pass. Which means why play it. I mean I am close to just not playing solo battles at all as I know I will have to play modes I don’t want to play to get to 200 CP. I bought the game and put money into it to play the game I enjoy. Right now the rewards for offline are kinda sad and I also am not sure that getting rewards in a pass only feels rewarding.
The problem, from my perspective, is that there lacks a route for people new to online H2H to kick start and learn and develop. By offering top tier (and only top tier reward) to guys who can win 30/40 online games in 2 weeks, the difference of team ratings between experience online players and inexperienced starters will only be widen through time, so it will be increasingly hard for newbies to compete with them.
Personally I would like see that there are not just a top tiered card, but some usable and could be a bit lower rating card for people that can only win like 10 or even 5 online game now, so there are opportunities for them to grow and not left behind so quickly and early in the season.

I can agree with this sentiment a lot. I said adding Draft Champs would help offline players a lot (and still have it for h2h players too as a different way of getting cp if they wanted) and glad that my idea for DC being added to the mix and save the mode would be great. They really just need to do like they used to and either as soon as the promo is over, update the card pool for that promo or do a once a month update at some point to add all the other stuff that dont have promos that are just programs like Team Diamond and Team Affinities and such. Keeping new cards available and fun and try would make people say huh that card played really well for me, I should at least buy it and give it a try. I havent played DC in like 2 years maybe 3 now because they updated less and less and I think last year they didnt even update the pool or have rewards for playing it/winning (obv now it would be cp to win like the other modes).
They def have a lot of problems with the menus and screens they need to address sooner rather than later for sure because otherwise, its going to bog down the system more and get slower/if not break with the AH and sets especially. Get rid of the after points screen for SB as well and just show the score and points under. I think theyll have to just make them pop up types menus for sets/AH instead of running all together so its not bogging down time between (and time after when youre buying cards, I dont want to go through every card I buy after I buy it).

I get the team building aspect of it but like... why not just not upgrade your team past like 85s. and then wait till the end of the year to actually build a team because then prices are going to be lowest and you can save so much coin.

I think the only problem with that would be WL/Mut Champs now since theres no SBMM or ELO or whatever they use. I forget.
The FP gives you 6? cards you can use and are top end (at least for a good chunk of the time). For the only wins at the lower bracket you do get a random good pack. Prior it was a free 86 RP and now you get an 89 All Madden player. Plus at the highest you get the really good card (but this should be sellable).
I’ve typically always been an online player however over the past 2 years I’ve been more solo. I feel solo battle rewards should be separate from the competitive pass. By restructuring the solo battles by battlescore that earns progress through the solo battle ”season” like exp. The higher score the more the progress which could unlock rewards like field pass xp, packs, coins, ect.
To me it just seems that if the competitive pass is so focused on online play then just remove the solo battle aspect and create a separate pass specifically for solo battles.

I don’t want to derail the OP but I just wanted to answer the last portion of what’s the point of having a God Squad to play just solos. Many people have fun in different ways. For instance, I can spend hours playing the Market on MUT. I also enjoy collecting and playing with top players that I collected and are some of my favorite players. I happen to like House Rules so I do play online competition but if people just like playing solos and solo battles and they find enjoyment in it then so be it. Maybe they like other aspects of the game too. It’s not for anyone else to understand what is fun to someone else. What may be boring or seem ”dumb” to others because someone does not play the way you or someone else plays does not matter. People find enjoyment in different ways. I can use the analogy of climbing up a cliff over water. I like to cliff dive. But some people might have climbed the cliff just for the view. They don’t like the rush of the dive. Nothing wrong with either climb. Some people don’t like the anxiousness, rage and toxicity that can come with online play. Some people just like the view.

That still goes to topic though. If youre only solo grinding and dont play online then why would you buy a game full price when you can get it for $20 around christmas and free for the Super bowl. Paying $60 to continuously upgrade a team to beat solos/ battles just seems like a waste of time and money when you could get it for free and waste less coins/time that way. Maybe to other people just playing with the football season is the way to do it and its their choice, but I think thats another distinction you have to make.
These solo grinders: are you spending money on the game? Are you AH flipping? Or solely just going to grind and thats your team because thats 3 very different players.
Spending money occasionally keeps you up to mostly date
AH flipping you can have god squads with no work and do solos for fun or need a h2h break (I have 2 friends, 1 plays online only and flips cards. Other doesnt play online but flips and solos)
Then the person who has to be most careful is the grinding only player (what Ive pretty much turned into until after Christmas) where I wont keep up with the best of the best (1 for TT anyway, 2 Id rather save my coins to get more/better players later when prices are down)
People can do whatever they want and make them happy but then they dont have as much pull on the game when youre really not the target audience of these ultimate teams.

Online players are not the target audience. Spenders are the target audience. There are people who play offline who spend. There are people who play online who don’t. And vice versa. Again you are thinking about self when talking about spending on the game. $60 may not be much to some people. Some people may be addicted to opening packs. And people waste money for what they deem as fun all the time. Easy to drop a grand on a roulette spin in Vegas . Not financially the best idea for someone who does not have finances but some people do. Easy to spend $60+ on dinner. Some people would not do that. How much can a night out cost? People have their own motives and agendas that don’t line up with other peoples motives and agendas. If the Madden team thinks those people no longer matter than they will lose some customers. Look at Madden Mobile and it‘s missteps. Do they care? To a point they do as we just saw with the Legends change. Also, I think Slammer may be taking valid Points to EA that he receives from this topic.
On another note, glad you thought of the Mut Draft idea too. I know you pointed out issues they may have with implementing it but I personally think it’s a problem solver and could appease offline grinders. Especially if they can get to the 200 CP. I am sure offliners do not care about the reward after the 200 CP and would be okay not getting those unless they played online. I do not think online players would care. No reason to care as they would never play each other. The only reason to care is gatekeeping if people they will never face can get the card.
You are right. The audience is spenders. When I think spenders, I think online players who want to be the best of the best. Not a niche of people who spend to play offline.
Thanks! I thought its a fair trade off and I used to love that game mode and would love for the life to be breathed back into it. Its a nice quick 4 game getaway for something else. I do think they need a small reward at like 150 thats okay but could be better, 200 for everyone (that offliners would have to struggle a bit for but breeze for h2hers) and solid and then maybe a 250 thats really good like Woolen and then after that a bunch of extra packs. And those cards should be AH able. If you come late you wont get it and if they never get upgrades again you are stuck with the card prior.
