TD in O.T in seasons did not give a win

Good day, everyone  

I was just wondering, is this a mistake or is this just how it’s always been? don’t seem to get into overtime a lot and was in an overtime game in a regular season game in the seasons mode. I scored a touchdown and my opponent then was able to get a chance at scoring as well, I believe this is not correct and that these are the rules for the playoffs.

If you get the ball first and score, your opponent gets a chance to tie it and then it goes into sudden death.
