so does anyone have a clue when we can upgrade our team captain and why we have two tokens?

Two tokens might just be so you have an extra or you might need both of them to upgrade we'll have to wait for the update to see though.
Unfortunately, the only time frame EA gave for when we will be to upgrade them is sometime later

We are able to get 2 extra tokens right now, so I hope there would be an extra spot to unlock another 0ap bucket. Why would we get 2 other tokens either (probably EA just messing up again).

Has this been confirmed somewhere?
From EA's tweet "The final Team Captain Token will be available to earn this week. A later update will allow you to use that token to upgrade the Team Captain to a 99 OVR"
The fact that this tweet only references one token is what leads me to believe the other is going to be an extra.
It's possible I may have missed a mut tip or some other form of communication from EA.

No it hasn’t been confirmed by why would you need an extra token? the most common thing would be unlocking a second 0ap bucket. Having an extra token serves no purpose lol. It’s common sense.

There was a glitch where adding your team captain to the exchange set could cause you to lose the token(s) equipped on the card. An extra token would be useful to these people. It would also be nice for anyone who hasn't finished all their solos that reward the other tokens. Or maybe EA just wants there to be multiple ways to get the final token.
For the record, I hope that the second token can be used for something whether you can use it for a 0 ap bucket or you can quicksell it if it turns out there's an extra.
I will update my original comment to reflect that it could be an extra or it could be necessary to upgrade the player. I am not going to say it's for a 0 ap bucket until it's confirmed.
