(This raises more questions than it answers, but having these questions may help you make good decisions if you intend to pre-build the Team Diamonds sets....)
Like everyone else, I'm a bit thrown by the reveals of 95 OVR items, and I have to conclude that there's something off here.
Each of MUT 24's Team Diamonds sets had 25 components, heavily weighted in the 84-86 OVR categories, and combined with in most cases a pair of 88 OVR Division Dynasty items, you needed to accumulate a little over three 88 OVR-equivalent items. It should be noted that all of the non-Division Dynasty Team Diamonds components were released before the end of September.
I was looking over the current catalog of 49ers items. If I don't count NAT's, special cards earned through events, Players of the Month, LTD's, or Redux's, here's what I see right now:
3x 90 OVR
1x 88 OVR
5x 87 OVR
1x 86 OVR
5x 85 OVR*
6x 84 OVR
6x 83 OVR
7x 82 OVR
2x 81 OVR
3x 80 OVR
4x 79 OVR
1x 78 OVR
3x 77 OVR
6x 76 OVR
(Total items OVR = 53)
* Counting All-Pro Fred, which doesn't appear in the Catalog. It's likely other cards are missing.
If using as a base formula 3xOVR = (xOVR)+2, with a hypothetical set of 53 component items, the 49ers have an equivalent of roughly 3 89 OVR items to pair with 3 90 OVR items, perhaps enough to build a 93 OVR item. A lot of teams don't have items in the higher OVR's, and couldn't muster anything close to what the 49ers could. The Eagles don't have much here, with their 3x 90 OVR items followed by only a pair of 87 OVR items, one 86 OVR item, and one 85 OVR item.
Seeing disparties like this, there will be plenty of wild cards for at least some of these sets. Alternatively, we may end up with sets that include items from more than one team. (No one wants to hear this.) It doesn't seem possible for one of each item from a team making a 95 OVR item, meaning the Team Diamonds items must have some sort of upgrade mechanism. With that likely, it calls into question what exactly the component items will center on, as those pivot on the base OVR of the Team Diamonds set items.
