Last weekend I completed my fifth Team Diamonds Master Set. This was the first time I worked almost exclusively off of a spreadsheet I developed, rather than through the clunky sets menus on either the PS5 or the Companion app. For this reason, the sets came together more quickly, and I didn't pay insane costs for most cards until doing so at the end would have made a difference in my profit on the master set item.
Even after that, I almost missed out on hundreds of thousands in coins. I first put J.J. Watt #1419 on the market this past Sunday night, at just under two million. Within hours, the value of Watt had begun to tank, with sales nearly scraping just above a paltry one million. I adjusted my expectations and finally sold him for just under 1.8 million coins before the Auction House take. Meanwhile, I was surprised at just how volatile the pricing had become for most of the individual Team Diamond items. With a little patience, I consistently sold the cards for about 20% above the going rate, and as of now I have only two left on the market.
Auction House prices continue to be unstable, but many of the component cards for Team Diamonds sets have hit all-time lows. Even the specialist cards that often have gone for tens of thousands of coins can be found on the cheap if you're looking for them at the right time. I might build a sixth set, if only to finally have a Watt all my own.
