Doesn't matter what you do, the defense is absolutely embarassing. I have speed, height, zone and man all over the field and they do nothing. The angles players take to make a tackle literally give up TDs and the ball just hits players in the face. Carmichael literally watched a ball come at him and he didn't even play it. Play recognition means nothing because the players don't so shit anyway

Yeah if you’re not running outta the same shell most plays madden is gonna be pretty hard. Check out the usual, nickel sets with 4 dline, dime, dollar. 4-3 is also pretty meta this year

I usually play out of cover 3 regular nickel and go from there. Cover 4, a few man blitzes here and there and some cover 1 cover 2 man defense

First time all year I've had any defense to speak of. Granted, I'm running Julius Peppers and Randy Moss on the outside, both with DOZKO and LurkArtist and X-factors, one of which will light up almost every game. Over to I have Mike Evans and Winfield Jr, both with DOZKO. Even my pass rushers are showing up once in a while.
Your point remains extremely valid, defense has been extremely difficult all year long, but I've had a few minor successes on D since I retooled my squad. Doing 25 Zero Chill & 25 49ers. Running a mix of mostly Nickel and Dollar, finally able to get many DBs above 95 ZCV with handful max 99. Full Zone,+3 Zone Strategy item, Bills coach for +1 Zone and +1 ZCV in very last, alternate strategy slot. Had a blast building my new squad this week.

Happy holidays to you too man, thank you. Right now, i'm running 49ers playbook. It has all the formations i use but idk, i guess i need to expand it a little more and maybe invest in better depth players so i can run dime and dollar more. I play out of base nickel mostly.
I use Woolen with DOKO and Calvin with DOKO and flat ko or whatever it is. Carmichael with free LA and i have an inside stuff on Perry. The deep out KOs are huge and make a huge difference

rough to hear, Carmichael has been a beast for me at SUBLB, I'm sure you're running the 0 AP pic artist, but I use a mid zone KO and let the AI roam on right side and seems to make a difference, AI lurked a few very impressive pics with him already and had a bunch of knockouts in middle of field too...
I'm the opposite, my D is good and I suck on offense, weird problem to have but I'm just not good enough reading coverages and making the right decisions... defense def sucks if you don't make adjustments but IMO once you have it down it's less hard...

Carmichael has been very good for me overall, just a few plays hit him in the face but i blame the shitty coding in the game for that more than the player.
is mid zone ko that good? I remember i used it earlier in the year but it didn't do much for me. Maybe the way to go is deep out kos with mid zone kos? Idk if i will have enough AP tho

I've been using it pretty much most this season since Campbell came out with discounted, been using 1 DOKO, 1 Deep In, 1 Mid zone and 1 flat zone
I think it's more important to have a mid zone over two deep outs, also mid zone works for curl flats and hook curls... if I showed you Campbell's stats for me you might think it's worth it, bro was a monster for me since using him with it, he's usually in a hook curl on the right side but sometimes put him to a curl flat
I'd choose mid zone over a second DOKO but probably a lot of people would disagree but it's been nice for me...

and mostly run cover 3, using chiefs playbook, either dollar, nickel over G, 6-1 or sometimes regular nickel, would highly recommend taking a look at chiefs D playbook, it has everything, once I started running c3 from dollar my D got a lot better, Over G is okay, could make a case regular nickel is better, but dollar is so good against pass heavy IMO

and this is also assuming you aren't running stock cover 3, stock cover 3 is trash, but if that's your shell and you make the proper adjustments using KOs it's really good...

Yea i will look into that, thanks man. I might just use Calvin with the deep out KO and replace Woolen with someone like Douglas or something and use the AP on mid zones since that's where i'm having the most trouble on defense at the moment

I run calvin with his flat zone KO since it's 1 AP but yeah Calvin would be good in mid zone, most would, just avoid more than 3 AP on it, Calvin doesn't need anything else except mid zone since all his catching stats are insane, but Campbell needed lurk artist so still 3 AP total.. waiting for a player that only needs total 2 AP for mid zone, was hoping it would be zach thomas but realized his 2 AP mid zone and 0 AP lurk artist are same bucket so he def not worth 3 AP mid zone...
