The Grind Is Over -- Big George Joins the Squad!

Well, it took a long time, too many Solo Battles, and a frustrating number of MUT Champs games (thanks in large part to the dumb statistical objectives that creates quick quits), but I managed to secure the #562 Comp Pass 89 OVR WR George Pickens (on XBox Series X/S) earlier this afternoon.

I managed to sell the auctionable version for over 950,000 coins, and I'm obviously keeping the BND version.  If it wasn't a Steelers player, I definitely would not have done this.  But I wanted to grab Pickens while he's still somewhat relevant.  I do wish EA had given him stock 88 Speed and/or some 90+ Route Running, but he should be solid on my current 30/50 Steelers Theme Team.   Here's how he shapes up:

I'm running him without Abilities at the moment, though I may move him to the slot and put Slot Apprentice on him if he struggles to get separation on the outside.  I'm currently running Tyreek Hill in the slot with Slot Apprentice, and he COOKS man coverage on those posts, corners, and crossers.  Looking forward to playing with Big George, whose elite Acceleration and Agility should play up in my scheme.

Anybody else finish this grind yesterday or today?  I figure the full 1,000 will probably be gathered by the end of the day.  And now, as the kids say, I can go touch grass...

I thought I have been playing too much this year. But just checked and I am not even halfway to Pickens.

I don't see why not.  It's a fully auctionable card.

i managed to snag 207, solo battle grind had to be the worst thing. Realised he so wasn’t worth it when the likes of jerry dropped but was too far deep to pull out. 

he’s actually been a goon, i toss him on streaks and he either outruns the DB or he pulls in a crazy aggressive catch

Was gonna say the same thing. I wouldnt recommend buying him though unless you think theres at least a chance youll want to keep him. Ive never seen a card lose value so fast as this one lol and im sure it will continue to drop, especially as more time goes by. If you look at his ratings it shouldnt be surprising, its really not that impressive of a card, even for this time of year, its solid. Probably a backup/depth piece on many teams already, and will be for even more fairly soon. 

They should have put him much earlier in the field pass for him to be very relevant and have lasting power. I doubt many people other than Steelers fans and people with ZERO good wrs are even all that interested in him.

Check his stats against Rashee Rice and it's so close it's a toss up. For the price I'll stick with Rice I think.

Why do people keep talking about the Pickens card like it's useless? Compare it to some of the high priced WRs out there and it's a very solid card and you get it just by playing the game and grinding. Let's be thankful it's not some useless MLB or a kicker or some weird shit like that. It's definitely a useable card. I mean if you have Calvin, Hill, etc then maybe not but but plenty of people don't have those guys.

This is the first time I've commented on the card itself and while I'm not saying it's "useless" nor have I seen anyone say that it doesn't look like the stats of an 89 WR which currently is the highest rated WR in the game. EA could've done better as always. It wouldn't hurt them to overachieve once in awhile instead of constantly under delivering to us the players.

I was just asking in general, not aiming at you but i understand your point. It's definitely not at 89 overall card so i agree there.

Congrats. about a week out I think.….not as excited since he’s not a theme fit. Will still be fun.
