Theme Team Advice: What Team Should I Build in Madden 23?

Hi guys! With Madden 23 coming and being my third Madden game ever, I wanted to really become competitive and active in creating a theme team. The only problem is I don't know which one to choose. Feel free to post your opinions on what would be a good theme team; I would also enjoy if you posted the pros and cons of the different teams and maybe suggestions on how to use them. I've compiled lists below based on players who are likely to get a high overall card in 23.

San Francisco 49ers: Randy Moss, Charle Young, Deion Sanders, Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Trent Williams, Larry Allen, Ronnie Lott, Deforest Buckner, Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, Charles Haley.

Tennessee Titans: Derrick Henry, Randy Moss, Bruce Matthews, Ken Houston, Bernard Pollard, Kevin Byard, Andre Johnson, Jadeveon Clowney.

Seattle Seahawks: Russell Wilson, Charle Young, Brandon Marshall, Dwight Freeney, Bobby Wagner, Kam Chancellor, Jadeveon Clowney.

Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson, Deion Sanders, Mark Andrews, Darren Waller, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Bernard Pollard, Calais Campbell, Haloti Ngata, Justin Tucker.

New England Patriots: Tom Brady, Randy Moss, John Hannah, Legarrette Blount, Trent Brown, Rodney Harrison, Cordarrelle Patterson, Ty Law, Darrelle Revis, Vince Wilfork, Deltha O'Neal, Richard Seymour, Junior Seau.

Atlanta Falcons: Michael Vick, Cordarrelle Patterson, Deion Sanders, Julio Jones, Dwight Freeney, Kyle Pitts, Tony Gonzalez, Deion Jones.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tom Brady, Legarrette Blount, Vita Vea, Mike Evans, Ali Marpet, Warren Sapp, Tristan Wirfs, Ndamukong Suh, Darrelle Revis, Ronde Barber, John Lynch.

Zero bias 😉

1. Just because they had a card this year DOES NOT MEAN THEY GET A CARD IN THE FUTURE. Most of the time yes they do but there are many examples especially this year where its the first time they've been in game or they were taken out and have been in the past. 

2. 49ers/Pats always get a ton of endgame/legend players

3. Out of these listed based on endgame players I would take Pats > 49ers > Bucs > Falcons >Whatever

I’m just basing it on players who usually get high overall cards like Moss and Brady

Yeah I think patriots is gonna be a good option. They have the most players out of anyone in my lists. Maybe hybrid patriots 49ers?

Raiders is always a great choice. It seems like almost everyone made a pit stop in LA, Oakland or now Vegas at some point in their career.  Raiders tend to get a great mix of Legends and Ultimate Legends...I have always found Raiders (for reasons noted), SF (much like the Raiders they get a ton of older players...as a plus...many have played for both) and Cowboys (another one with great Legend cards and historically a very dominate offensive line).

Falcons and there is totally zero bias

To be real, just do your fav team. It’s always the most exciting.

That's the thing. I don't have a favorite team. I primarily watch college football

Then choose the team that has the most players from your fav college :)

We will see, but I’d choose whichever team is gonna have the most core elites to start next year

According to nfl rosters it's tied between Packers and Dolphins, each of which currently has 4 UGA players

Or you don’t have to run a theme team at all

There's really no predicting which players EA will give good cards to. Mahomes was a friggin COVER ATHLETE and was left behind half the year until his GT dropped. If you're doing a theme team, pick the team based on which team(s) you like. It may not end up being the meta, but you'll get to play with players you know & love.
