This game is depressing

I think it might be time for me to start playing other games, just waiting on MLB The Show. 
 

Every single h2h game is RPOs, corner routes, and x factors all over the field. I just don't have the energy to really sit there and make 50 adjustments to counter all of this bullshit and i did it all year, just ran out of energy. Every player is almost the same and every team has the same players and abilities. It's March and people are playing this game like their lives depend on it using all kinds of cheese and glitches. 
 

Please EA, let another company take a shot at a football game because MUT is pretty much done. They even took away season xp from the comp pass. Why? Garbage player rewards, garbage packs, garbage promos, and garbage gameplay. Sad to see what the game has become and now i know why i took almost a 2 year break from this game, it's literally not fun anymore. I'm sure some people feel the same way but i just don't have it in me to sit there for 45 minutes trying to make my defense do things that they already should be doing. Can't do it.

yeah, my main focus is wwe 2k24 and nba 2k24 now……i havent fully quit madden yet(always like to play with OOP cards before im fully done and im having fun with my latest pickups)

Yeah, it's been a pretty shitty year. This is about the time where it gets unbearable too. I've been sticking to the SB event mostly. Quick games, decent rewards, etc.

Just played a Super Bowl in my Super Bowl Run.

Opponent was not a good player, but a good team.

All game his defensive line got sheds and screamed and his coverage was all over the field.

Went down to the wire and he had ball last. The whole last drive EA slowed my players down. Id click on and hit turbo and he would just beat me just enough to get the 1sts downs. Its like EA takes away your control of your players when it feels like it. He threw right any my CB with Flat KO...no knockout. Finally with 10 seconds left he threw an interception in the end zone. A bad player.

So amazing to see this game....whatever is coded into it, keeping games close. Not every single game, but a heavy amount of them and especially Super Bowls. 

Nasty product as I have said before.

Bro me and my boy SWEAR by the 4th down underdog guaranteed throws. We've had balls go through hands, throws crossbody perfectly accurate, runs and broken tackles beyond belief. ALWAYS seems to be 4th down. Even for me I noticed it bigtime and always joke when I clutch up on 4th down. Sure you HAVE to get it, and you're gonna use your best possibly secret play, but it's beyond that.

Yes, I've noticed if your opponent gets a quick shed and you're in 3rd and long or go for it on 4th down, if you can make a read youll usually convert. Not every single time, but most.

Yeah I hit my boiling point last night. Quicksold some binder trash, enough for just 3 mystery packs @ 26.5k per. Two out of three packs were gold players. Closed the game and pre-ordered the Show immediately after. Haven't played MLB since '21 and looking forward to getting on something other than MUT after it launches Friday. Can only take so many beatings, gg Madden.

I used to think this was bullshit but it's not and EA will never admit it. There is definitely some kind of hidden code that activates in certain parts of a game and fucks with the outcome

Its like EA takes away your control of your players when it feels like it.

They actually do take control of your players in certain situations. They'll force you to drop back even if you're holding down on the sticks to rush. 

Or when you're trying to chase down a player and no matter how hard you try to cut them off up field it'll pull you behind them like a tractor beam hitting the Millennium Falcon. 

QBs refusing to move up into the pocket dropping back  extra steps before you can get control  because Edge Treat triggers a sack animation.

I need to find some other hobbies.  Hoping the warm spring weather will encourage me to get outside, might be able to touch grass for a change.  Started dabbling with NBA2K a bit more, which is also very much pay, but games are more fun when i can remain casual and drop in and out.  I've been on this quest to improve at Madden and it's been a wholly unrewarding experience... if not truly frustrating and stupid, as you so accurately pointed out.

I'm envious of all you guys ready to drop into MLB The Show.  Being a lifelong Mets fan, i equate that level of suffering to being on par with what J-E-T-S fans must experience year to year, constantly letdown and disappointment.  Elden Ring DLC doesn't launch until late June, so i've got a while to kill.  I used to look forward to winding down wr0k and diving into my MUT squad, firing up some competitive online games many/most evenings, but it's exactly as you stated... getting more and more difficult to care.  That JJettas was probably the last desirable reward to grind for.  And barely matters, as there's so many ridiculously good wide receiver options right now, but it's nice on the rare occasion true NMS players can acquire a legit upgrade.

I really wanted to hold out long enough to see if we get some type of Theme Team Remix promotion again this year, that's the only thing keeping me holding on at this point -- my current 50/50 49ers squad feels far too gimped to use in real H2H games.  70/70 SB + 25/50 Niners is just too good for me to move off from.

Yes, it is supposed to make the game "engaging", but instead it makes it "enraging."
