I'm envious of all you guys ready to drop into MLB The Show.  Being a lifelong Mets fan, i equate that level of suffering to being on par with what J-E-T-S fans must experience year to year, constantly letdown and disappointment.  Elden Ring DLC doesn't launch until late June, so i've got a while to kill.  I used to look forward to winding down wr0k and diving into my MUT squad, firing up some competitive online games many/most evenings, but it's exactly as you stated... getting more and more difficult to care.  That JJettas was probably the last desirable reward to grind for.  And barely matters, as there's so many ridiculously good wide receiver options right now, but it's nice on the rare occasion true NMS players can acquire a legit upgrade.

I really wanted to hold out long enough to see if we get some type of Theme Team Remix promotion again this year, that's the only thing keeping me holding on at this point -- my current 50/50 49ers squad feels far too gimped to use in real H2H games.  70/70 SB + 25/50 Niners is just too good for me to move off from.

Yea. Madden is the main game i play as it takes my mind off of other shit in my life but lately it has been fucking infuriating. I'm spending more time looking at players in the AH than actually playing the game.

I played 2 games before work today. Game 1, i got wrecked and game 2, i wrecked someone. My team was completely different both games so i wasn't even excited about the win since EA fucked me just a game earlier. Just not sure how long i'll last because i invested a lot of time into the game and i have a solid h2h record but it's hard to play when i just don't give a shit about it

I've suffered tremendously from a similar sunk-cost fallacy.  It happened with that MVP Mahomes, after i built his set, i was determined to use him for the AP reduction -- but then it seems i kept mumbling to myself during SO many games, "Doug Williams would have made that throw."  Took me a minute to revert back to Douggie-fresh, who was clearly the better card/QB.  Same goes for this darn game, i've invested so much time, effort and resources into this bad game, i still feel liek i'm gonna miss out on something down the road if i slack off now.  Managed to turn this bullshit into a second job, of sorts, rather than using it primarily for recreation and relaxation.  Unbelievable.

Even if there was some type of functional leaderboard, or a way to have a truly competitive landscape -- what a disappointing mess the modern state of Madden has become, especially Ultimate Team.  Nothing quite hits liek the NFL, i really dig the team building aspects and the chess match of figuring out your opponent.  Sadly, there's not much to figure out these days, it's just spam RPO/rollout/etc type cheese... over and over and over.  It amazed me that same shit happens at ALL levels of play.  My jaw dropped when i saw dudes spamming the same shit during MCS Finals.  There's some basic skill gap stuff, but nothing liek it should be.  There's no hope for fair, balanced, let alone truly competitive gameplay.  And nothing can/will change as long as EA holds the exclusive rights to NFL simulation fatball.  Fuck my life.

It was discovered the other day that EA recently changed it so that if your opponent quits in the first half you dont get coins for the W. 

Glad they are focusing on important "improvements" to this joke of a product even this late in the year. Smh clowns

I haven’t played a none 6-1 shotgun bunch opponent in A few month now. I don’t use either and it’s always funny to see the opponent frantically trying to make adjustments to something they haven’t seen before and dont know what to do against. Because they’ve essentially play themselves. That Is the only solstice remaining. As long as YouTube remains, madden will always be shit, for the simple reason of people copying the “meta” instead of trying to do something unique.

Yea that's my problem man. I'm like fuck it, i already put so much energy into the piece of trash game, why quit now? I'll be playing tonight when i get home and raging like always while trying to figure out if i wanna sell my entire team after they disappoint me. I'm gonna try to figure out a way to build a monster run team and just run people over. I'll stick with Williams at QB for short passe but i'm going smashmouth football. Fuck it

I'm gonna try to do something to mix it up this evening, as well -- i was debating going back to Jets playbook on offense, but at the moment i'm leaning towards checking out Denver Broncos, which would be totally new (to me).

I had a ton of fun running a similar style of smash-mouth football when Emmitt initially dropped, paired him with Heeeath's Vanguard.  I was pumped to get my first Angry Runs RB of the year.  What scheme you thinking?  I just kept spamming the same HB Stretch, always flipping to the wide side of the field... left, right, left-right.  Using my Vanguard as TE2, so he's always on the outside.  Adding dual-Vanguard would make this extremely nasty and super versatile.

If you notice your opponent starts running a Hard Flat (on the outside) to take away the quick RPO / bubble screen or whatever, you can then hit em with something liek Mesh Spot and that outside post is SUPER easy to hit quickly, before it breaks to the inside, he'll beat the Flat zone and get under the Safety 99% of the time, which often turns into a one-play touchdown.  After calling five or six consecutive run plays, dudes will over-commit and get easily burned, thinking you're going to tote the rock.

Yea I've been playing a lot of WWE 2k24 myself lately. Went back to Madden yesterday & couldn't  even get through a full game without getting bored. Game is getting to be very stale to me real quick. Bobby are you on ps5?
