This lineup restricted thing is so stupid, everybody is cheating and subbing on players

The roster requirements are  literally  on said screen.   It says <81 and under.  It doesn't say screw with your roster by putting people  in random positions   then pause the game to sub them back in to their normal positions.

yeah it doesn’t give a competitive advantage because everyone can do it. I haven’t played in the mode but my understanding Is that everyone and their mother is doing it lol. W username. 
 

there’s always just the chance that I am more competitive about madden than you are, which is fine, but I promise you I’ve never broken TOS. I’ve never done anything my opponent couldn’t do in return. Irl I am a lot chiller, but only one person wins a game of madden (especially with the new stat counting)

There's a reason why rules and restrictions are in place. It's supposed to put everyone on a fairly level field. It wasn't intended to be a David vs Goliath matchup every single game. 

Just because everyone CAN do it doesn't excuse those who do.   Also not everyone is doing it. I'm not and there have been a few others I have played against who haven't either. To those that do, I call them cowards and move on to the next game.

I'm quite happy where I am as a player. I win 70-80% of my games  just dicking around looking forward to those  few games every year where the opponent doesn't play like a coward.

I'm also way past anything competitive because Madden isn't a competitive game anymore. Obviously their own tournaments are nothing more than a bunch of kids spamming Cheese like cowards and that all trickles down to the other modes.

ToS you say? It’s literally on the same page as what you are mentioning as “cheating” with the Trade Block. You are glitching your OVR by making ridiculous subs, and your actions are clearly against the ToS you so reverently quote.

They, unlike the trade block, are not clearly against TOS. And again, I’m not doing it. And again, I have an 80 OVR team. Imo EA should never have ditched the salary cap

It’s still competitive because the comp players aren’t spamming the same things over and over again. It’s offensive and defensive plays that counter each other. If my opponent can’t stop something I’m not a coward to do it. I’m just better at madden than they are

Agree to disagree. 

It's not competitive if all you do is run scripted plays to counter cheese. That is just animation roulette till someone "wins" 

The Comp players are just more consistent at cheesing.   They all run the same cowardly concepts to attack the CPU and not the User.

Yeah I’m fine to agree to disagree. It’s what every comp video game becomes at a certain point

I just don't think this mode was ever meant to be played with actual limitations as much as made to look like variety is being added (don't know why this gets contradicted but that's my next point here). Because why would they limit up to 10 gold players but do nothing about elite players? Unlimited elites in your lineup basically just screams "find a way to lower your ovr but sub in your actual lineup". I'm pretty sure this is working as intended IMHO.

Edit - now that I think about it, I have a new theory - this is a stealth exclusive membership for people with HIGHER OVR. The limit 10 gold players is actually to get people with higher ovr teams exclusively playing each other. Because weaker ovr teams may legitimately play 10 or more golds, and thus unable to play. You'd think they could sub in silvers but nope that was excluded entirely.

I just don't think EA actually plays or tests these modes. Anyone who could think critically likely realized this would be exploited. Think about this: had they actually implemented a total card OVR cap, you would have seen pack trash and lower elites spike in value, helping the NMS and even LMS players close the gap. Instead, the whales and dudes who play this game like it's their job (i.e. the coin/time "rich") will only continue to get richer, widening the gap more.

I've said this elsewhere, but lower-OVR teams NEED to have hope, they need to have a belief that they can compete and possibly win if they play well. They need to have a reason to engage. When you're constantly going up against god squads that have millions of coins in the bank, you're going to lose that hope and reason to play, and given that the best rewards are seemingly gated behind competitive modes that encourage toxic gameplay (this LTD mode, stats only tracking during wins, which encourages running up the score) while modes with lower barriers to entry are either removed or left behind (draft mode, true salary cap), casual players are just going to leave.

Like, you can effectively win a SB and sell Darren Waller to buy Mike Vick right now, put him as you backup to then sub in, and continue to win SBs in order to keep farming coins. By the time this is over, youre gonna have guys set up for the rest of the year because they've spent a ton of money and/or are able to no life this game and beat the community into submission

This is them attempting to copy MLB the show which creates lineup restrictions but MLB is a different game entirely and the starting lineup is wildly important.

They should have just said no more than 3 cards over 84 or something in your lineup

No offense but if your offense is cheesing the cpu and exploting the game, you're actually not better than your opponent at Madden. Sometimes you have to do 50 different things to stop a cheese play and it becomes pointless. If you need to run the same cheese play over and over again, you're actually a horrendous madden player. Cooldown mode shows you how bad people really are at this game. When they can't spam the same play over and over again, they literally can't play. 
 

the way Madden is built, i wouldn't pound my chest about being "good" at the game when the game actually rewards bad players more than it does good ones.

if you think it’s running cheese plays over and over then odds are you just don’t know anything about high level madden. If you don’t mind my asking how do you do in mut champs?
