Thoughts: Took 6 weeks off, best decision ever - Man Coverage is brainless is

Well, I stopped playing MUT for 6 weeks. Much happier. No more getting shafted by EA Sports to make games close. No more juiced up sliders to keep games close. No more of my defenders just  standing around with zero or poor pursuit angles on 3rd and 13 when someone is running I-Form stretch against Nickel Normal, only somehow they manage to break a 14-yard run for a first down....

Recently came back to play a bit....team is great, but older. Still using Bo Jackson at RB. Have basically 4 universal coverage in secondary... so still a good team.

I come back to find man coverage being used a ton. Now, is their anything more RNG than Man Coverage? Granted, I win majority of the time against it, but who hasn't played and literally not one man-beating route can get open? 

Literally, man coverage is the most RNG, brainless part of this game. How is it not? Just commenting about man coverage because of it is back as juiced up in Madden 25...yeah...wont be playing much. EA finally had zone, which takes much more skill on both defense and offense to use and diagnose as the META. Now. We are back to brainless Man Coverage because EA needs to sell new cards at the end of the year.....brainless football MUT is right now.

I wouldn’t say its completely brainless, you still have to shade correctly and certain routes still cook bottleneck/uc

I mean zone didn't take much either with the KO everywhere and all you had to do was user on the crossers

Why play defense when every game scores is tied 30-30 28-28 35-35

Hmmm...setting zone drops, knowing which formations to use match coverage in? Knowing how to change match coverage for certain plays?

Zone creates much more of a skill gap. 

And offensively you have to make reads. KOs in zone usually don't bother me much unless EA is cheating me.

I mean ...ill stop someone's passing and then they resort to RPO or running the ball. Of course EA has to gift players with great blocking to keep the game close. For me, I rarely have time in the pocket with 5 secures and rarely can run the ball unless someone pass committed. 

My defenders stand flat-footed on run plays and take horrific angles. Have many clips of this nonsense. 

Quite the show.

But you do raise a good point....average players can be in games with good players in most games. Most likely wont win, but sometimes they do.  It's frustrating and sad to be honest.

6 weeks away from this game....was a joy.

Yeah I spent 4weeks off just so my 6.9 mil will be worth it and my team won’t suck doggy butt and now I can get a team  with all the good passive xfactors with 1.2 mil free i feel better than I ever have on madden

I still have yet to lose to a man coverage scheme. It is just to easy to beat. Strong close is a great formation that makes a man blitzers life a living hell. I would highly recommend it.

Then why are you complaining if you know how to beat it lol.

How do you get 1 million so easily, it takes me 300 thousand to get?

Being forced to play the same way every game is pretty boring. Sometimes I wanna have fun but these style of defenses force me to run the same 3-4 routes all game if I care to compete/win

I mean if you really want to play and not be bored, you could test out new schemes and formations to make things interesting, but at the same time June Madden is June Madden.

that’s honestly how it’s been going. i’d say 70% of man coverage users can’t adjust to a good defense so it turns into 2000 Ravens football lol
