I’m trying to get better at the game, and I noticed the best people I play are excellent at ushering the LB and I’ll say I’m definitely a casual trying reach a competitive level play. I’m trying to get better by just playing all madden solos but I don’t think it’s helping. Any advice, tips, or would be appreciated.
Definitely start with being sure you have lurk artist on your user. And then for your user, of course height and speed, also agility, acceleration and change of direction. Your user will feel much more smooth
Then if you're opponent keeps playing the same plays, you can user specific routes or areas you think they'll keep going to. Or if their offense isn't predictable like that, try to cover large amounts of space and try to bait them into throwing the ball, making it look like a route is open but cutting it off after they throw, and then hold the jumping button when you think they're about to throw

That all sounds good. I would add that he also needs to be mindful of the responsibilities of the player he is using. If he takes a player that is responsible for covering a HB out of the back field or a certain area of field he can't be prancing around where he shouldn't be or a good opponent will notice what he is doing and take advantage of it.
Playing h2h would be my first suggestion. There's only so much you can learn from playing the cpu even on the highest difficulty. I think usering is one of those skills that you really have to practice against other players to learn how to do it well. After all, the cpu and a good comp player approach and play the game quite differently.
Try strafing with L2/LT at least for the first few moments when you're figuring out who you're going to defend that play with your user.
One of the keys to a good user is knowing your opponents tendencies. It's easier to defend against the play that you know is coming than the play you've never seen before.
Finally, it's important to know your user's responsibility for the play that was called. Basically, don't try to do too much and trust that your cpu teammates are going to be playing their assignments.
You might already know this but for anyone that doesn't, to get the best animations you should either have a LB with the lurk artist ability or a safety at sub LB as your user.
start by putting a safety in at submlb so it’s not somelse with sand in his pants who can’t run or jump

That makes a lot of sense playing H2H more. I just got tired of losing by my defense not being able to come up clutch in every game. I definitely don’t hold the L2/LT button I just sprint and non sprint essentially. I saved up for Roquan Smith and I have lurk artist on him. He’s amazing with the CPU using him. Thanks. I app you taking your time to help me.

I just got Roquan smith with Lurk artist. Wouldn’t that ability give him almost the same animations?

Probably. I haven’t used the Superpowers much this year I just know whenever I use an actual mlb they can’t run for shit
i like usering safeties, specifically ones that are on the side of the ball of the HB
You can spend all the money/coins in the world on the best players, but becoming a better actual user is all about reps and understanding routes relative to the coverage you're running, and most of that can't be explained, you just have to understand football and adjust to your opponents' tendencies.
If you want the best user in the game, go with Harold Carmichael. 6'8, 94 speed, insane COD/Agility/Acceleration and Lurk Artist is free.
Beyond that, learn how to hover over the center post-snap for a split second then run back into coverage and diagnose route combinations so you can sit underneath them and activate Lurk Artist. That's 99% of usering right there.

thanks I appreciate that. I just played a few games and got some user picks.
1st off… use a Safety or a LB with Lurker/Lurk Artist.
2nd off.. play underneath quite a bit.. dont want to run step for step with a WR unless youre trying to lock him down. Giving a little cushion will allow you to lurk your opponent pretty easily…
last… DONT be afraid to mess up. People often beat themselves up over this but not needed. Even the best users mess up
do any of you adjust your zone drops and if so where's a good place to start? i typically run cover 3 sky in BNOG. i user a safety in the middle. any information would be greatly appreciated thanks!
H2H is the best place to practice...it is more challenging then solos and also pays. You can also run into folks who will offer some great advice. When I started usering a LB I would pick plays that had that player blitzing...this way I really had no "responsibility" and could roam around getting in the way. Gotten better (not good), but still find usering a blitzing LB to be the easiest (maybe not best) way to practice.

Flats to 25-30 and curl flats to 0-5 are pretty popular for mable coverage set ups that do well against a lot of the common meta plays.
