Why do I have 6 gold 99s, and none of them are my "top players?" One of my top players isn't even a starter. And has 0 ap. Does anyone know how this works?

I'm not sure anyone understands how the game picks top players. Generally, it seems to be qb, wr, and a player on defense.

Mine is one WR, one KR, and one MLB haha
You'd think they'd have some options to customize this by now but it's also not that deep.

Middle linebackers seem to have a lock, and the rest are who knows? Kick returner? That's funny. My top 3 are embarrassing. What kind of Lions tt has Hurts and Singletary as top players? 😕 Throw in Reggie White. I'm ashamed of myself, shame on me.
Its not a theme team at all, but playing with Stafford at qb, has already cost me a controller.

I heard a rumor in past maddens that what they would cost in salary cap is how they ranked the top 3

Actually that is true. I remember the salary cap days. Top players sorta made sense back then, not anymore.
