Top QB's and Their Releases

I've been trying a lot of different QB's over the past week and a half. Each one has had a different release. Here are my opinions on the releases:

Gen 3 (Ryan Fitzpatrick 94): This is my overall favourite release. Just in general it's alright at short, medium, and deep throws. However, that means that it isn't super good at a specific throw.

Slinger 1 (Aaron Rodgers 93): This is the popular release year after year. Throwing short to medium passes (usually how you beat man coverage) is an incredible release. However, if you throw the ball deep a lot, you do not want this release; it is terrible deep, as there's such a wind-up.  

Traditional 2 (Drew Bledsoe 95): This release is the inverse Slinger 1. Meaning that it's an excellent release if you're throwing deep a lot. However, throwing short passes (especially quick throws out to the HB) take a long time, and I've felt that, despite "throws tight spirals" as yes, the ball hangs in the air a bit too long.

Traditional 1 (Tom Brady 95): This release is by and far my least favourite, although the sample size with this release is a lot smaller than the previous ones. From what I've seen so far, throws take too long to wind up, even with that 0 AP Gunslinger. I'll do more testing and see what I think.

Gen 3 Lefty (Tua Tagovailoa 94): I decided to mix it up and try a lefty. I'll do the head-to-head testing tomorrow, but for tonight's solo testing, it seems to be pretty good. Short passes seem to hang just a little bit, but not often. If you run bubble screen rpos on the right, then a lefty is excellent, and the release seems to speed up a little on that bubble and flats (to the left). H2H test: he did alright, about what I expected from Gen 3. I didn't have to flip my whole scheme, and he plays good. Shorter passes do hang occasionally, but overall he plays solid, and no need to flip scheme.

Slinger 3 Lefty (Ken Stabler 99): I really like this release. It's right up there with Traditional 2 in terms of deep release. As for the short release, it feels good. I mean it isn't slinger 1, but it for sure isn't Traditional 2. Slinger 3 short and medium feel similar to Generic 3, but Slinger 3 is definitely better. Again, I like lefties in the RPO scheme and Stabler will most likely be my QB for the rest of the year. 

I plan on using Ghosts Patrick Mahomes, TOTW Jimmy G. After that, feel free to suggest releases (and QBs) you want me to test out, and I'll update this list with new releases that I've tested.

Appreciate going a level deeper than just average release times, someone needs to do a full breakdown (similar to this)  that has the short/medium/deep times for each release.

Have you taken a look at Cunningham? Even with gunslinger his deep release seems to take a while, feels like I've eaten more sacks than when I was using Elway.

EDIT: Nevermind, Cunningham has Gen 3. I'd still be interested in the deep times between Slinger 1 and Gen 3.

Aaron's release on deep throws is absolutely awful. Brady's overall release is extremely "meh", and I'm currently using him as a gap QB until someone I really want comes out. The one I enjoyed using the most, for every throw, was the free Josh Allen we received. Really looking forward to his next card. Surprisingly, record breaking Lamar's release was pretty smooth for me too. Will get one of them when released.

I can take a look at Cunningham. Even his lower cards should have a similar release so I may eventually grab him and give him a shot. 

And yea Gen 3 struggles a little when throwing deep. That's why I changed off Fitzpatrick, because the deep ball is a big part of my offense.

oooh Lamar. Haven't used him yet. When Allen and Lamar get upgrades, I'll have to try them out (QS'd the 92 Allen)

I agree with everything you said. 

I picked up scrambler Brady to try out instead of LTD fields because you can get HRM SFL on him for 3AP. However his release was weird, sometimes you get the ball off quick on short and medium throws and other times he wouldn’t. He also missed a lot of deep balls especially high balls for me even with the let it rip gold strat I always use and his release on deep balls was meh as well. 
anyway I’m back to fields with just SFL and just running slot Ap on Ceedee and it’s much better. Guess I’m just a gen 3 guy.

Whats crazy with Brady is I’ve seem some say his release with gunslinger feels almost like elways and some say Brady’s release is terrible. Ive had no issue with Brady’s release and I was using elway before. I can’t hardly tell any difference in the 2.

Lamar's release is super underrated. He and Bert Jones are the only two in the game with it. Can't wait to get a new QB who has that release as that's who I'll be grabbing once they drop.

I doubt it happens since other QBs need upgrades, but I'm really hoping for a new Lamar in ZC part 4, or at least in the very near future

Yea it's funky. I'll probably go back to Bledsoe after I'm done testing different QBs and their release. The deep ball is part of my offense so that deep ball is crucial, and his release short is manageable to me.

Yeah I was super pumped to try Brady because of his ability stack (3ap for HRM SFL) but I didn't realize how much I need a good medium and deep release. Might try Tua for the 5ap stack instead but Fields has been throwing dots again for me.
